In those sunny pictures it looks very light of course, this is where it is at it's darkest, plus a good length shot (it s longer, I have shrinking hair):

My hair is hennaed, so how is it possible that it got lighter?

Hmmm, maybe because of sun exposure? Also you must think of what different products you use on your hair comparing to last year.

Heaps of different products, I can't even remember! Must be sun exposure, although it's winter now and the hair that has grown in is the same color.

Despite all the hype, henna can fade.

Yes, I agree. My henna doesn't fade as badly as red hair dye. But, it definitely fades on my hair.

It looks about the same to me, which could be my monitor.

It looks about the same to me too... it could just be the shade of the tree you are in in the first picture, the same effect is happening to the top of your head in the second picture from the shadow of that branch?

Given that it's henna colouring your hair, it could also be the light the pictures were taken in. My hair looks a lot lighter in bright sunlight, or when there's light shining on it, than it does in shadow.

Of course, hair can also lighten under the henna in sunlight, or so I've heard (I don't really notice lol) but if your roots are the same, then it can't really be explained that way!

I do think though, that if the first picture had been taken with sunlight streaming onto your hair, it would look as light as the newer ones!

Not very helpful, sorry, but I just wanted to say you have beautiful hair! You look just like your avatar too:thud:

They look comparable to me too. The first pic was taken in the shade, then next ones were taken with sunlight or a flash. That's bound to cause some differences, as well as how the camera choses to expose each time.

I see it has lightened, mine too though i have been doing the honey treatments but it had faded some prior. Looks lovely.

:flowers: thank you!

The ends of my hair are much lighter than the top of my hair, so that has been sun lightened for sure.

I can recall that you have had some problems with bad henna some time ago. Can't you just reapply it with some good one?

My henna fades in the sun, even in winter. I'd guess it depends on how much your original hair color is prone to lightening. My natural color develops highlights extremely easily, & it's not that different with henna.

Very pretty! I see the lightening - my first guess was the sun did it. It's probably very good that you're using henna for added protection. Unfortunately, henna did not work well on my hair, but if it had worked I definitely would use it - especially for added protection when doing a lot of outdoors activities. Lately, I've just been wearing a scarf, because I know all too well how much damage the sun can do.

I got better henna and then again a bad batch. I bought new henna a few days ago and will use it when there is a new outgrow. I don't do the length anymore, maybe I need a gloss to strengthen my hair, although it's in pretty good condition lately :)

Got two new pictures, this was from this week:

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=7584&pictureid=107334

the blue line show the hemline. My hair is really up till the small of my back, but it just shrinks a lot

and a bigger one:

The colors look different again! I need to redo my henna, but I have been doing lighter applications and am wondering if I shall keep it light or henna it darker again.
