Ways to tie ribbons into hair?

Hi everyone, I'm going to a parade in a few weeks, and I want to use 7 colours (rainbow) of ribbons to tie into my hair somehow.
I was thinking of doing two braided buns with the rainbow ribbons braided in. Or perhaps two braids with the ribbons. But I'm not sure how to go about doing this?
Also, I'm open to any other suggestions about how to tie ribbons into hair.
I want it to look fun and playful.

You could also try hair-taping, that (as far as I know) is basically sewing your braids to the head with the ribbon (to the head meaning to the scalp hair, of course!). Torrin Paige has an great video-tutorial of this here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqbAdvL8kME); she also has other great tutorials using ribbons there, I'm sure you'll find something you can use ^-^

I saw a video using one ribbon, but maybe this will help. The ribbon(s) need to be about twice as long as your hair. Make a pony tail and thread the ribbon so it is equal in length at the ends. Braid the pony using one of the ribbon halves, then form a bun. using the other half of the ribbon, wrap it around the bun and tie in a bow at the top. The video used a black ribbon and it was very sophisticated - I was thinking it would be nice for a wedding or something. Two buns and a rainbow of ribbons could be really neat to see this way! What ever you do, post pics!
