So I just noticed that it's been 2 years since I joined! Wow how time has flown!!
When I started my hair was just past shoulder and it's now reached BSL as of a few weeks ago. It's taken a bit of time thanks to some slow growth periods, a mean hairdresser who took 3 inches instead of 1 and a neccessary cut for damage.

But after all that I'm finally at BSL and hopefully will be getting closer to waist by my wedding in exactly 4 months. Now my only problem is that I seem to be suffering from Telogen_effluvium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telogen_effluvium). The bright side here though is that now I'm shedding mass amounts of hair I'll be able to make my hair rat for sock buns a lot quicker hehe

Gotta be positive at the moment, between my wedding, a DVT, potentially an autoimmune disease (lupus) and about 5 specialists on my case .. ah life is fun!! Atleast my hair isn't looking thin, despite the mass exodus of hair from its roots plus I now have lots of new baby virgin hairs AND I can still do awesome braids!!

So anyways there's my 2cents to the forum :joy:
Thanks to all of you for your inspiration to keep at growing!!

Congrats on the 2 year anniversary. Sorry to hear about your shedding problem at the moment but I love your attitude, very inspiring.

Hope if gets better for you soon and those new baby hairs grow, grow grow :-)

Congratulations on the growth! :) I'm sure your hair is going to look absolutely stunning for your wedding. Your cheerful attitude is brilliant!

If you're worried about hairloss the big factor for me in stopping it was vitamins! They were unbelievably helpful. In particular I took biotin, a hair skin and nails tablet, silica, fenugreek, and fish oil! Within a couple of months the hair loss stopped dead and I had a lot of new growth. I also scalp massaged daily, and on wash days massaged with coconut or amla oil. I hope this can help you out at all. :o

Thanks Hotrox and CrystalStar! I figure it's better to be positive than negative :) Ooh I must get a new pic up too!!
I'd love to take my hair vitamins again but while I'm on blood thinners and they're still doing lots of blood tests they banned me from all vitamins (except my iron sup) - I'm itching for the day I can start biotin again since my hair loved it in the past!!

Yep, I had the hairloss thing too (not diagnosed, but I'm actually certain that it was Telogen effluvium after a long illness and stay in hospital) I went from a 4" circumference to a 2.75" :(
The hairloss is gone! My hair is still a 2.75 though, just waiting for the growth to come back, I haven't changed my stats here, hence why it says I'm a ii/iii. Vitamins REALLY helped, So good luck when you can take them again!

Good Luck with all the tests, And of course your wedding! You have a great attitude, I was all depressed when my hairloss started.. ^.^
