I need help choosing oils. My almost APL hair was really damaged and most of it has been cut away since. However, it is dry and I use a curling iron because my hair won't do anything without it! I want to just wear it up, put oil in it almost daily, and just forget about it. Has anyone done that? help me with some oil I can wear daily

If you are using heat styling, the only oil that will withstand the heat and not fry your hair is jojoba oil.
For putting it up, a lot of people use coconut oil (very little) on daily basis but I would test it first since some hair doesn't like it.
My suggestion would be Camellia oil. Its very light, moisturising and has very little to no smell :)
Have you tried deep moisture treatments on your hair first? Something like SMT will go a long way to restore some health to your dry hair.

I have lots of oils but my daily one is this http://www.aromatiqueoils.com/80190/info.php?p=5&pno=0&pid=2854657&cat=246916&ack=9&search=&sought= which I use every morning on the last 4" before bunning; about a penny's worth in size. This has fully absorbed by night time, I then braid my hair for bed and add argon oil to the tassel and a little along the braid.
Id seriously think about ditching the curling tongues, they will cause so much damage that will prevent your hair from retaining length. Look at alternative ways to curl; pin curls, sock bun curls, rag curls. There are lots of ways to create curls without killing your hair in the process.

My favourite oil is jojoba oil, you can use it as a leave in during the night and the day after it will be absorbed. If you prefer use oils before you wash your hair I think you should try sweet almond oil, for me it is the most nutritive and the easiest to wash out!

Yes, you're not benefitting your hair with the curling iron/heat!
The more you rely on heat, the more damaged your hair becomes..unless you can restore what the heat took out.
I'd recommend an Extra Virgin Olive Oil treatment.
Wash and shampoo your hair. Air dry completely.
Pour out a small serving of EVOO in a bowl (about half a cup)
Dip your fingers into the EVOO and apply to your hair. By the time you are finished, your hair should be damp but NOT dripping with EVOO.
Cover the entire hair with sheets of cling wrap (aka Saranwrap)
Keep it on for several hous (Preferably overnight)
Shampoo and condition as usual the next day..and voila, hair with luster and incredible slip! And no olive oil smell either!

Another way to curl your hair is to put damp hair up into a ponytail in a cinnamon bun and let dry. This results in curls. Maybe you can use a blowdryer on cool setting to dry your hair faster. But try to stay away from heat.
If you are trying to straighten your 2a/2b hair with a curling iron, it just makes hair more unmanageable since the hair gets damaged and kinky. You may wonder how I know that :-)

I really like coconut oil; I've noticed its a favorite on here. Leave it in overnight like you would the olive oil. The other oils mentioned before me (Jojoba, argan) are also go-to's for me. If you alternate using them, you should get plenty of variety:)
I agree that using the curling iron will only kill your hair. I have suer curly, unmanageable hair that I used to flat iron daily. It killed my hair. I just got it relaxed in January, and now its so dead all the work getting it to look pretty backfired. Ive decided to swear off damaging it.
I think the bun idea will work well; look for alternative ways and keep your pretty hair healthy.
