I am so envious right now :) Such beautiful hair, i wonder if she's a part of the LHC! If you are, please let me know! I'd love to talk to her!
But here guys
http://www.youtube.com/profile?feature=iv&user=sameese79&annotation_id=annotation_263723

I cannot do that without trims, i know i cannot. My hair loses too much length with the breakage eventually and it's hard to manage. She's so lucky!

I've never seen her here. Her hair is amazing! And she grew it to floor length in a very short time. In 8 years she went from below BSL to floor length. :thud:

Gorgeous hair!

Are those bun drop hair videos on youtube erm..hair p*rnie vids for the f*tish folks?

Quite directly stated, but... and this is in general, I don't like them either if they are the pointless keeps dropping hair out of a bun, touching the hair umpteenth amount of times, and/or flicking the hair about 100x or for 10 minutes - type of videos. There's those, and then there's your average updo tutorial videos. Give me those over the other kind any time.

I think her hair is lovely. Not really sure why people are so eeked out about bun drop and hair brushing vids. I mean, if you had floor length amazing hair, wouldn't you want to show it off? Part of the beauty of long hair is the way it moves. I think that if I can enjoy countless pictures of women showing the length and shine of their hair (and not to forget the awesome action shot thread!) then I can enjoy just as much a picture of combing that same head of hair.

I think if I had that much hair, i'd be showing off how skilled I was several times to at least somebody. If I were going to do a youtube video i'd be showing off my skills. heheh. It does pult an exclamation point onto how awesome her hair is! I mean, so healthy you can shake out a bun several times and not get tangles? WOW!

I certainly like looking at hair that long but I dunno .. I don't want hair that long, it probably wouldn't grow that long anyway but to me that long is pointless, what do you do with it anyway ?? except display it for others to look at and enjoy, the changing of the colours in the video was an excellent idea it helped break up the repeating of the hair bunning and dropping, I didn't find anything offensive about that .. her hair was so smooth and soft and really well cared for and I'm about to say another but :-) I'm not overly fond of the fairytail look either .. each for their own and as stated all over this forum we grow and look after our hair the way we want to, it's our head, hair, time and hobby :-)

Agreed. Kind of. I mean yeah, what's the difference between looking at great hair pictures or cool hair action shots on LHC vs. watching this woman fiddling around with her hair on YouTube? I honestly don't know. Except that pictures and action shots on LHC do not make my skin crawl. And I didn't know about the "other" reasons people may post such videos on YouTube so it's not like my mind was in the gutter or anything, but I literally cringed after about a minute of watching. I had the hebeejeebees (sp?) Even though my first reaction was totally benign, like "Whoa Rapunzel, she's got great hair"!.

Then I find out she's pentecostal. I'm perplexed as to why a "religious" person would want to so obviously show off a part of themselves. And honestly, if I had awesome, floor-length hair, I would feel nervous wearing it down everywhere I went. Like if I had perfect, huge boobs, I would feel less comfortable wearing a skimpy top. Too many eyes watching. But I guess it boils down to "to each her own"

Just because someone is religious doesn't mean they can't take pride in their appearance. There's definitely a quote in the Bible that says "if a woman has long hair it is a glory to her." It's in Corinthians, I think. I certainly don't blame her for wanting to show off her gorgeous hair!

Speaking of huge boobs. . .I have some. Other people call them perfect, I just think they're nice. I think her wearing her hair down is like me wearing a V-neck shirt. Most people wear their hair down, it just looks better on her. Most people wear v-neck shirts, they just look better on me. I think you can be very religious and still show off parts of yourself. Lots of religious women wear eye make up to show off the shape of their eyes or pretty wrap dresses to show their figure. In her case, I feel more like she has a right to show her hair off because she's been putting care into it for years.

I guess for me it comes down to having something about you that shines. Why hide that light from people? If you're brilliant at math, join math clubs, compete. If you knit amazingly, start a blog and an etsy shop. If people are amazed by something about you, then you probably deserve it. There's no harm in someone saying, "wow!" I think it makes everyone's day a bit brighter. :twocents:

Are those bun drop hair videos on youtube erm..hair p*rnie vids for the f*tish folks?

Well since I was the first one to bring it up....

1. I asked if bun drop videos are for those who have a f*tish for long hair, to get a rise out of them(if you know what i mean).

2. Its true.

3. I don't find the woman creepy, but the concept of videos for this purpose. Is she doing it for that reason? Who knows. Her video is really mild. Cute rainbow colours, no hair sniffing, etc. We all look at pics of beautiful hair on here but there is a personality behind it. We exchange advice, comments. It is a community, not p*rn site. LongHairIndia, anyone? Yeah.

Reading is fundamental, folks.

Yeah, to me they are. You can't change the fact that bun drops *are* a typical f*tish thing and if you make this kind of video, it *will* be used as such.
Pleading innocence is very easy, though, but I don't believe in it for one second. Like taking videos of yourself dancing in lace underwear for 5 minutes and acting outraged to learn that some people use it for self-satisfaction purposes. Hum, unless you're a lamb born this spring, let me doubt your honesty.

See, I'm not bothered by f*tish video in themselves. Heck, I'd do some if I weren't so lazy and I could figure out a way to make money out of them. What bothers me is the hypocrisy - oh noes, that's not f*tish, it's bad, BAD §§§
Ahem. Gimme a break.

I have a feeling a Pentecostal woman isn't going to be making hair ****** videos.
And yet she does - go figure. At the very least, intent vs. action. But what's left in the end ? The action.

As far as this lady goes about her hair....I think she is just "showcasing it" not in an erotic way. I think pixies are very cute! I always wanted that haircut...but have a long chicken neck!

I decided to go the other extreme...but I notice when I am at my desk at work...I am bored or a little stressed...combing my hair is a stress reliever...like a scalp massage...but I find if a man walks by and sees me...i am a bit embarrassed...

well, I guess that all assumes that hair ******es are even bad. (I get that they are, if you get blindsided by a ******ist when you don't expect to be. But I would imagine if this lady has had long hair for more than five minutes, she knows some folks have a "thing" about it. And has opted either to ignore them or enjoy the attention or suffer through, or some combo of the above.)

Human motivations can be complex. The fact that someone belongs to a religion doesn't mean they can't participate in a sexual game, and I totally get why people saw the bun drop video as a ****** one. Because most of the time, it is. And anyway, at some level, much of life is a sexual game. Just some more obviously played than others.

But... is that necessarily a bad thing? Could that even be part of the game, coyly insisting that you have no idea that such innocent things could be taken that way?

It's hard to say what exactly is going on with it, but I'll take the poster at face value when she says she didn't mean it like that. It doesn't affect me one way or t'other.

Why do you take pics of your hair? To see what it looks like. She has floor length hair, it's not like she can easily see all her hair using two mirrors... this way she can see what it looks like in action. I'd totally make a video like this, I wouldn't put it on Youtube... but to each their own.

I feel much the same. If I were to post videos of bun drops and swishing hair, I would probably assume that most of the viewers were watching because they have a long hair *thing* because I don't think most people spend long periods of time watching such videos otherwise. I could be mistaken but I don't watch those sorts of videos for more than a minute or so because I think, "Wow, nifty, that is some long hair. Oh my, she is going to get some tangles from that." Then I go search for an updo video because that was probably what I was looking for in the first place when I found that video. I don't watch video after video of bun drops.

That said, I am not judging bun droppers or their special viewers. As such things go, it seems harmless and not my business. However, I do find it hard to believe that someone could post so many hair videos and be unaware of the effect that such videos have on some viewers. I suppose it's possible and ultimately - STILL not my business!

I only watched for a minute or two, but I really like how she changed the colors. It was neat to watch the different layers fall and swish around each other. She has really pretty hair, and it looks like she takes great care of it.

Now, for the other topic... I think that a video for people who love long hair (like LHCers) and a video for other purposes is going to look very similar (except they get more extreme when it specifically for "other purposes"). I think it's pretty obvious she's not making it for "other purposes". I think it's obvious because I looked at the other videos she has on her youtube page.

The original link went directly to her main youtube page, where the majority of the videos were tutorials.

I think we should look at the other videos a person is posting before we start bringing nefarious words to the conversation, you know, do a little research.

I think saying that about anyone's video, were that video NOT for "other purposes", would hurt that person's feelings and possibly make them feel defensive. It surely would hurt my feelings.

Now, if she does drop by, and see that people are liking her videos to "other purpose" videos, why would she want to stay and chat with us?

Even if it was a random observation, or an offhand remark, or even though no ill intentions were meant behind the comment, if you (meaning whoever is reading my little post here) read that as the video's maker, how would you feel?

I did watch some of her other videos and I am not convinced one way or the other. Ultimately any long hairs posting videos on in the internet are going to have to decide for themselves how much it bothers them if someone is watching their video for other than instructional purposes, if you catch my meaning. However, it seems that bun drops are a *big deal* for some very, very strange reason and if such things bother one, one shouldn't post bun drops.

SAMEESE79, I would like to offer my sincere apology for the posts in this thread that are unkind. Although none of them were my own posts, I am discouraged to read fellow members discuss another member as if she is not a real person with real feelings. Your intentions have been questioned and for that I am sorry. I think it's rude and uncalled for, especially considering it is a simple video of long hair flowing out a window. There is nothing offensive about your video.

If anyone here has a problem with long hair being showcased, maybe you should ask yourself what you are doing on a forum dedicated to it. Just because there are some weirdos that get excited about long hair does not mean the owner of the long hair has done something questionable. She let's her super long hair down, fully clothed, happy rainbow colors...... and suddenly we - and I use the term "we" very loosely - call her creepy ? Seriously ?? We have members here who post pics in their underwear, swimsuits and even topless from behind to show off their hair.
Let's be perfectly frank for a moment, I am quite aware that some would consider me to be an attractive woman. If I post a video of myself on YouTube - a tutorial, or my hair blowing in the wind or, heaven forbid, a b*u*n drop - and someone decides to use it for sexual purposes, will that actually MEAN anything ? Will it change my intent ? Does it suddenly make MY actions less innocent ?

The owner of the long hair and the video is clearly hurt by this and she has every right to be. I can't imagine how she felt, reading a thread that is actually about her. I can tell by her response that she is MUCH nicer than I am..........

I don't find anything offensive about her videos at all, nor do I find them creepy. I freely admit I don't understand why folks watch bun drops for ANY reason. It isn't something that I watch. But I also don't watch hair videos in general unless I am trying to learn a new hairstyle. There may well be a huge number of people who enjoy them for aesthetic reasons. It isn't like I have polled people watching hair videos.

People get turned on by all sorts of weird things. We cannot control how someone is going to react to what we do. I do think that it is a good thing to be aware of however, so that when these questions arise, we won't be too surprised.

If *I* had long hair like that, I'd be swooshing it back and forth and combing it and petting it and braiding and unbraiding and bun-dropping it....not on the internet (only because I'm shy, maybe with my back to the camera....I'd get the giggles) and I also like watching videos like that- BECAUSE I LIKE LONG HAIR. And not in a ****** way. Because it's beautiful, admirable. If I had hair much longer than floor I'd adore it, be very proud of it, and want to show it off.

No more of this misunderstanding please :(

EDIT: I wasn't replying to any specific person, just the general turn this thread has taken. And I do try to watch the videos of only the long haired & NOT with a second person in them.... they just end up smelling their hair and rubbing it on them.

Just so you know, I am not into hair f*tish. That is why I left LCH in 2009. Someone was accusing me of it because she was jealous of my hair and wouldn't stop harassing me. Just because I like to make pretty and tasteful hair videos doesn't mean I'm into ******. I am an Apostolic Pentecostal. I'm not into nasty stuff. Sorry. :(

I'm sorry you have to read things like these, sameese. I don't think you should take it too personally. I get the impression that people on LHC are very wary of f*tishist, no doubt with very good reason, and I that might make some people a little "paranoid" about hair videos. I personally like your videos, and I can't blame you for showing off such wonderful hair. :) And if some people like it a little *too* much, so what? That has very little to do with you.

If there's one thing the internet has taught me, it is that everything is someone's f*t*sh. Hair brushing, cake baking, breakdancing, furniture upholstering, you name it. If people should refrain from putting things on YouTube in fear of p*rvs, there would be about 2.5 videos on the entire internet.
I'm certain that anyone who uploads a long hair video is well aware of the kind of attention they attract, and I'm sure they've taken it into consideration. Of course some do the videos to satisfy the pervs, but many do it in spite of them, just to satisfy themselves and show of the hair they've worked long and hard for.

I'm not attacking anyone, and I can fully see where people come from when they don't like these videos. But ultimately you have the option of just not watching it. I think the f*t*sh video debate is relevant enough, but I really, really don't think it's fair to center it around public speculations about one individual's motives, especially when that individual is a member of LHC and has previously made their point of views quite clear.

Hair is for fun and grown up for owners pleasure. There´s nothing wrong to show how beautiful hair you have.

OK, so you were not aware of the implications of the kind of videos you posted. I suppose it happens that people remain naïve about the subject, when your intent is clearly different. But now you know : the bun drop IS the typical f*tish move. People specifically requesting it on youtube comments ARE asking it for these purposes. No ifs or buts.

I think it's rude and uncalled for
On the contrary, someone unwillingly posting videos that typically correspond to a certain standard for f*tish users might possibly be grateful to have been warned that she was unwillingly participating into f*tish stuff. In case she isn't into this stuff, and wouldn't want her image to be used for this purpose.

If you are aware that the moves you make in your videos ARE typical f*tish moves, yet you keep on posting some videos featuring only these kind of moves again and again for several minutes, it means that you don't mind being used as w*king material and that you are willing to provide this kind of material for this kind of users. I personnaly find nothing wrong about it, but acting all outraged and all afterwards is hypocritical.

You talk about people posting some revealing pictures here on LHC : there are indeed some posters who enjoy posting pics with just as much cleavage / butt as hair, in a revealing way. These people are adults, you will not make me think it is not done on purpose. Here again, I do not condemn the fact that these people are willing to attract some kind of sexual attention - there's nothing wrong about this in my book. What would be wrong, would be saying "but you are dirty minded ! it's just to show my hair !". As long as people take responsability for what they post, no problemo for me.

She clearly said that before someone accused her of making f*t*shy things in 2009. She already knew all of this.
EDIT: And I don't believe she acted offended or shocked either. I'd be saddened if the reaction that happened in 2009 started up again, on a board where, as you said, pics of women in their underwear are pretty norm.

I think everyone needs to relax. The OP's intention was rather sweet. He said "look at the pretty long hair; I'm so jealous." (not a direct quote). One person posted something like "I wonder if this appeals to f*tishists," and it got a little out of hand from there. I don't recall anyone directly accusing, just speculating. But I understand how that alone can be hurtful.

I think we have a gut-reaction to get defensive quickly and it's easier to act on that on the forums than it is in real life. I'm certainly prone to this. But one thing I've been trying to train myself to do is, when I get angry about something someone has posted here or on facebook or whatever, I stop for a few minutes, think a little bit about the situation, and then I picture all of us sitting at a dining room table, like for a holiday or something. :p And I ask myself if what I'm about to say, I would say if we were all sitting there at the table and not just as a sea of unknown people on the internet.

I know it's kind of silly, but the mental image helps me to measure my words a little better. Whatever works, right?

Why let a few ruin it for others who watch it without those motives in mind? You can sexualise anything if that's how you want to look at something. It's like the rape debate; the victim is blamed because they wore something particular, or because they dared to walk home at night. Why not blame the person who committed the crime and had the freewill to choose to do so? And why let those few people stop you from going out, having a good time wearing what you feel good in, and walking home at the end of it?

I look at Sameese's vids and see beautiful hair, some handy tutorials (that crochet stitch bun is amazing!), and I feel spurred on about growing my own hair.

Again to quote myself...

I never said the woman in the video is making videos to satisfy any type of f*tish. At first I asked if bun-drop videos are a type of P*rn for those who have this f*tish, and people gave me an answer.
I clearly stated that videos made for the purpose of hair p*rn are creepy. Nobody accused Samantha of having the intent. Why all the tears?

So if you left the LHC you haven't been on it since 2009. Somebody tipped you off about this thread. Why don't we discuss that person's intentions. Not very "k.n.i.t:, huh LHC member?

Also keep in mind that nobody accused you of being a creep or a f*tishist(is that the word?). Some might find the video itself a little weird, but that could be a result of a bad experience in the past with weirdos on the internet. Don't take it personally.

Those who do have a hair f*tish, don't be insulted. There is nothing wrong with it. I think people get weirded it out by accidentally stumbling upon those videos while looking for hair tutorials. Been there.

I agree. It is honestly puzzling to me why some LHC members are so indignant about hair f...ishists. I understand, of course, that it could get tiresome to receive unwelcome advances from these folks, but I don't know a woman alive who hasn't gotten unwanted attention at some point, long hair or no.

I liked the video. She has beautiful hair, and the way it flows is so lovely.

If someone else's enthusiasm for the video is sexual rather than aesthetic, who cares? Anything anyone posts on the internet is going to turn someone on, full stop. That's not "creepy", it's just the way people are.

Sure does. I mean, I get that it's weird. The percentage of people whose sexuality is focused on hair has to be really, really small. The internet has a way of bringing everybody's little private quirks, interests, obsessions out into the open... I guess it just comes with the territory for me.

I see that as one of the good things about the internet! What is LHC if not a collection of people with an interest in something that most people find a little strange? I guarantee you, show a random person our collection of back-of-the-head shots, and they will find that plenty weird.

I was in the break room and I had my hair in a figure 8 bun secured with a stick and this guy turns to me and says, "You know, whenever I see a woman with her hair up with one of those sticks I just want to pull the stick out and watch the hair go doodlee-doo" *makes waterfall-type motion with his hands* "Is that what would happen? Your hair would come tumbling down?" I clammed up but said something like "Yea, it's just the stick." Another lady said "Fight the urge" and gave him a mean look, which I was greatful for.

shudder:
