View Full Version : Two Years! (a little inspiration)

Even though I joined LHC in March 2010, I didn't actually actively start growing out my hair until about 6 months ago. I was just looking through my pictures and I was SHOCKED at the difference two years makes, even though most of that time I was bleaching and torturing my hair. Whenever I find myself moaning and groaning about how my hair never grows, I just need to look at these! Don't mind the shirtlessness... ;)

Woah! Inspiration indeed! Your hair in the first pic looks like it would go "crunch" if you touched it but your hair in the recent pic looks like it would feel like silk. :)

Yup that's some pretty fantastic growth. Looking good! How much does it grow per month?


I only started measuring in january, but from jan-apr I got a little less than 0.5 a month. From may 1st to today, if my measuring is accurate, Its grown exactly 0.5in. So its speeding up a little :D But thats average. I *think* I get more in the summer though. I trimmed a LOT during the past couple of years too. I'm wishing I hadn't! And I went from a straight across hemline to a U/V just last week.

I still have a lot of damage and some bleached streaks in the underside that you cant see in this picture, but I'm really happy with the progress!

Nice, that is inspiring! It helps me know what I can accomplish if I cut less. I had mine sut to a similar length in July 2009 and I'm definitely not as long as you yet despite having a similar growth rate. BUT, I am trying to cut off damage, so it's kind of a compromise between getting longer faster and getting healthier hair.

Yeah, I cut a lot of damage off too, but now I'm at a point where I'm going for length rather than over-all health. I still don't feel like my hair is long, even though its the longest its ever been. So I'm just ignoring my crunchy ends for now.

You've made wonderful progress. You've not only grown from slightly below shoulder length to now nearly waist length, but the condition of your hair is so much better too, its healthier looking and the ends are nice and thick. The henna did wonders for you. Congrats on the great progress! :cheer:

Thanks for your support everyone! :D :D :D

This reflection has really inspired me to take better care of my hair. I spend a lot of time on here, but I don't often put the things I learn into practice (except SMTs. I do those all the time!). I rip through it with a brush and almost always leave it down. If my hair can improve so much without proper care, I can't wait to see what it does when I'm actually nice to it for two years!


And the Britney thing...Yeah I dunno about that. But she's pretty, so thanks?
