I completely speed read the instructions for the Chinese bun, and slept on it. The next day I tried it, but as I now realize, it wasn’t the Chinese bun. If this is already a bun, can someone tell me the name, or have I invented a new bun?
First you braid two English braids, or two French braids.
Next, insert your hair stick as if you are going to do a Chinese bun.
Now, instead of wrapping the ends around the bun, you will do this in a ‘X’ fashion ( A braid goes left, B goes right in the X. When they hang after crossing, A braid goes right, B braid goes left in the X.)
Keep wrapping in the X until you get to the tassel.
Tuck the tassel.
You should have an X of hair over your hairstick. :)
