Have you gone to a salon to have your hair braided...like you would at a renaissance festival? I went to look for a place like that and they all just listed for afro-amer hair....extensions and corn rows.

You should call them and ask if anyone can do braiding on your hair. Lots of times they have someone who can.

Sometimes you have to really search to find a professional braider.

Your best would be at a Ren Faire..but brace yourself for steep prices. Braiding is an art, which, alas, not many can do, especially the more complicated styles.

Many years ago I visited a salon that advertised they had a braider available. Curious, I went inside and asked about a simple, French Dutch braid (one braid down the center of my head and braided to the ends. My hair was past waist length.) I was shocked when they said how much it would be for that one style...$35.00! $35.00!!!!! Can you imagine? You certainly can save a pile of greenbacks if you can braid your own hair (which I can!)
