Hi Pretty Hair People :) I have a question about the technique for french fishtail braid.

So what I've done is splitting the hair at the crown in to two, cross them over, pick up a strand from the left, cross it to the right and adding it to the right strand, vice versa till the end. It looks like this:

Am I doing it right? If not, please guide me! Thank you in advance Pretty Hair People :)

You split the hair into 2 bundles, each time you take hair from the outer side of the opposite bundle and add it to the inner side of the other. I hope that makes sense!

Check out this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkV4ptjPf3M It helps to see someone else doing it.

And this video shows it french style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sot6Y4X9ro

You're welcome :) I have been meaning to find out how to do it French style too but I keep forgetting to check on it so helping you to pull out videos means I get to learn a new hairstyle too

Whatever braid you made, it looks beautiful! Thanks for the videos Sundial, I gave the french fishtail a try, and got a nice hand cramp for my troubles  I didn't pull tight enough either, but I don't think it's too awful for a first try.

We'll just have to keep trying - practice makes perfect! :D
