If air hair drying time is slower does that mean the hair is healthier? I would think that if it dried too quickly it would be overly porous & unhealthy...any thoughts or known facts about this?

Also, can you put hair into a ponytail w/a metal free elastic safely? What about damp hair? Or should I wait until fully dry? Thanks!

I've been told long drying time is sign of healthy hair. I have no empirical data to back up this claim, but it makes sense to me.

I also want to know the skinny on ponytails, cuz until 2 weeks ago when I joined LHC, I didn't even know they could be damaging over time. :P I only use the non metal closure ones, but I usually put them in one of two places on my head, so now I'm wary of breakage at those points.

I'd say that a longer drying time is correlative to general hair health.

You'd probably want to avoid tying your hair up till it's dry, though!

Well the idea is that hair is more fragile when it's wet because it's already 'stretched' so it will snap easier. Ponytails already being a slightly damaging style that can cause the hairs that meet the band snap, I wouldn't combine them with wet hair. But that's just my 2 cents ^^
