My mum is going to a wedding, and she asked me to do her hair, since I always 'Do buns and stuff' with mine. Sounds like good news to many. But, she has APL, F, i hair. It feels like candyfloss. Does anyone any good APL updoos, or hairstyles? For this is not going to be easy.

Hmn, I don't know. But I know I like half up, half down with braids woven in. That's all I can suggest. :(

I'm not APL yet but most of these I can do...I think you can do a cinnabun, lazy wrap bun, peacock (with curls looks more appropriate for a wedding), french twist with pretty hair pins, gibson tuck, tucked in dutch/french braid, you can pin sections of a looped ponytail, or from just a ponytail, the gibraltar bun might work too (not sure), you can use a banana clip and pin the remains around for more volume/distribution. I think you can also do the "clip bun" where you do a half-up with a pretty clip and wrap the rest around the clip.

You could do a sock bun for an illusion of longer/thicker hair -- perhaps with some face-framing pieces twirled into curls?

Squiggly Medusa wiggle bun? I have a pic of two in my album (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=6883). Granted, I'm definitely not the same hair type as her, but it should definitely work, and you'll probably not need a bobbypin army and a half like I did.

APL, and probably especially fine APL, hair is a pain in the freaking rear. Just because it's really an in-between length. If she's got shorter layers from growing out, doing a lot of things is going to be incredibly difficult. I second the sock bun idea, just because it's really tough to make a sock bun look bad, and it's the sort of style that you can get away with using gel in if you need to deal with evil flyaways. (And fine hair will have flyaways.)

I sugest a gibson tuck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5JZOVnSjjE) they are very elegant, it can be done on fine apl hair as that's my hair type and length and I can do them.

There's a girl on youtube with shoulder-length black hair who does a variety of hairstyles. There's an audrey hepburn one, a titanic-inspired one - she really makes the most of the hair she had.

Here's the titanic one; she uses curlers, but since the curls are not loose you could do pin curls or something. Have a look on her channel - she does conventional things like spray hair, but I'm sure you can just substitute LHC ways :)
