I'm not sure if this has ever been posted here before (it's fairly old video) but I ran across it today and WOW. Some of the hair is obviously fake/photo shopped/digitally altered ect. (especially the shampoo commercial clips) but there's also quite a few natural, healthy and gorgeous looking heads of hair. Some of it also gets a bit... odd. Almost like clips from long hair ****** videos or something. But the hair is beautiful none-the-less and there's nothing inappropriate. I just thought someone out there may enjoy and be inspired by it as much as I am. Just be prepared for some massive hair envy :D

Thanks for the great inspirational video! I'm so jealous of all these ladies with silky, frizz free hair!

I've seen things like this when I was impatient with my hair and wanted to other long hairs haha. They have some massive buns ^_^ Their very pretty. Wish mine were like that but oh well. I wonder if they get headaches.
Shampoo/conditioner commercials always have the hair looking SO shiny and unreal E_E.
Thanks for sharin :] Reminds me I need to comb my hair when I go home. Crazy week so its been pretty neglected and in a bun for a bit haha.

Wow. Those silky hair textures are AMAZING. It's not even like hair anymore, I don't know what the word for that is. It's like a shining liquid. WOW. Ha, lame post, sorry, but I'm a bit speechless. Thanks for posting. :D

Wow, serious hair envy is right. I think I just re-evaluated my goal length. Is hip enough? Myabe tailbone would be better? Lol... I'll be lucky if I make it to a full hip. Heck, even a full waist. Seriously though, these ladies have STUNNING hair. I want it. The blond (the third head of hair in the video, I think) probably has the nicest hair I've ever seen. It was unbelievably shiny looking. I don't normally suffer from color envy, but nearly did on that on. I want her shine, my color but longer. Possible?

Nevvie, thank you for that great link!

Those women understand the beauty of beautiful hair and have really worked to reach such perfection.

I loved the Indian women (in saris) with the exquisitely thick braids..and the glistening golden locks of Cindy Christian are in a class by themselves! I understand Cindy cut her hair (at the George Michael salon). Many years ago our local CBS affiliate had a short video story on her incredible hair and I sat in amazement..watching her story unfold, watching her glorious hair as it moved and shimmered. Unforgettable! I was so happy to find that bit on You Tube again! She was an inspiration to long haired folks!

Beautiful hair no doubt. I don't know if I'm being weird but I found watching some of those videos a little uncomfortable - as the OP suggested "odd", like they were made reasons other than "hey look at this nice hair". But other than that, yes, there is alot of beautiful hair there.

I was once told that they used floor polish in a Pantene ad to get the hair to look super silky - not sure it that's just an urban myth.

I'm sorry I had to remove the link :flower: I know there was no harm meant, but please do not link to f*t*s*-channels on youtube.
Despite not being pornographic in the common meaning, there are some special issues with this kind of videos. It's not too obvious for the innocent and many are not aware of the sad issues around them, so I'll try to explain some of them.
The Indian women showing off their hair get exploited for such video shoots, maybe getting some small change for "just" showing off their hair... not really frivolous for the innocent viewer but very umm exciting for an admirer. It is not too obvious, but some youtube chanels are ads for websites selling DVDs or pay-memberships for adults. Ahem. Cough. Yes.
Also the street shot sequences in such collections are often without consent of the "models". They have no idea that they were filmed when doing their grocery shopping etc. or that their pictures got copied from their public albums from flickr or photobucket or facebook etc. Most people here would be very uncomfortable with having their pictures or youtube videos used in one of those collections without being asked for permission.
So out of respect for those women we can't link to such pages from LHC. Hope that explains the why and how, thanks for understanding :flower:

Thank you, Finoriel. :flower:

I didn't know how to express it, exactly, but watching that video did made me uncomfortable, despite the beautiful long hair.

*curious* Why, Finoriel, do you not write the "f*t*s*" word out properly yet you have left it whole in the OP's original post, quotes of that post and your explanation of why the link was removed that replaces the link? I thought the whole idea was to make it so that people couldn't google that word to find this site.

For anyone interested, the vid isn't hard to find on youtube with keywords from the thread title.

How observant you are, Panth , but you really don't need to worry about this :flower:.
Having this particular f-word mentioned on occasion will not bring us to the first page of google searches. Otherwise it would be in the auto-censor
The self-censoring I tend to do when typing it in text-contexts is mostly just a silly personal spleen which is hard to get rid of :o

Boring technical detail ahead, skip if you are not close to a cup of coffee:
People googling just for "long hair" will find our forum listed on the first page already. There's no way around it that we are THE long hair community I guess
Googling for "long hair" in combination with the special "f-word" will bring up other pages way before us. (At least when LHC isn't known already / was not googled before on their computer - the customized google search feature has big influence on the order of search results.)
So you really don't need to worry about it that I missed to edit the f-word on the occasions you listed and used it myself in the editing reason for clarities sake. That will not bring us on the first page of google results for somebody who does not already know of our existence anyways.

This would change if a big group of people would suddenly decide to type down the f-word all the time to bump the forum in google searches of that context  so please do not read this as an OK to start excessively using it.[/"kids please don't try that at home"-disclaimer :p]

For anyone interested, the vid isn't hard to find on youtube with keywords from the thread title
Indeed. While we do not support direct linking to channels of that sort there was no reason to edit the thread title or key words. Providing a direct link is very different from knowingly making the private decision to seek for the video :) a shift in responsibility so to say.
Also editing down key-words is something we try to avoid since it is very time consuming and would leave the thread without actual content in most cases, this one included. So the logical result would have been to remove the entire thread, but since the key words are not a problem themselves and the thread raised an important topic which especially newbies are often unaware of - it seemed better to leave it up for informational purposes.
