I wanted to know what kind of advice people can give me with my hair situation.
Currently, I am washing my hair every 3-4 days (so about 2x a week). CWC method.
My hair gets wet throughout the day (sometimes just a bit on the surface and sometimes I get some water to the roots). I can't do anything about it (as in, I can't stop it from happening). I've noticed that if I my scalp itself gets wet in between washes, I am more prone to getting an itchy scalp. It wasn't a problem before but it's started up since I've basically given up heat-styling and blow-drying. I'm 98% sure it has to do with my scalp staying moist/not drying off very quickly.
Does anyone have some advice as to what I can do to speed up the drying process with minimal damage to my hair?
Thanks for your help!

One question: is your hair (the roots) are sticky?
Does it ever feel clean? I had something like that (wet scalp and roots) long time ago but it was due to the multiple scalp issues. Like seborrhea...

I wouldn't say they are sticky. I just feel like my scalp gets itchy within 24 hours of water getting to the scalp and when I scratch, all this (moist skin? residue?) come off under my nails.... Yeah, it sounds gross, I know!
My hair usually feels clean, it's only once water gets to the scalp that it feels moist/itchy (even though it's hours after it's been exposed to water).
Note: it's not a problem when only my hair gets wet.

What is your scalp getting wet with? Pure water? Swimming pool water?

Wet and itchy always makes me think of fungal infection. :(
You could try teatree conditioner for you CWC or try teatree organic shampoo and see how that feels. But sometimes it may even take medication to go away.
Or maybe CWC is not for you.

Ok, then it isn't what I had... It does sound like fungal infection. Then I'm helpless here, I'm sorry :-(

I'm just guessing but are you referring to al wodoue? (wetting the hair before the prayers etc, hard to write it in english lol)
If so,then personally I find if I gently towel dry the wet part after that and just let it loose for a while it gets better. In my personal experience the itching comes when I wet my scalp and keep my hair in my usual bun where the scalp sort of "doesn't get any air"
If I loosen my hair about 30 mins or so after I wet, while "fluffing" it a little just to make sure all the water is gone, It completely dries and back to the normal state (and becomes softer actually since the water adds moisture :p)
I think the moist skin thing in your nails means your scalp is still wet,you just need to let it dry well.
Also you might as well try to be a little careful while wetting it.I think al wodoue calls for just wiping lightly the top part of the hair, but I could be wrong.
I know it's not much help but I hope it works for you.good luck :)

I'm not too sure yet that it's a fungus as it doesn't get itchy as long as I don't wet my scalp in between washes. I don't get flakies either. I'll monitor it a bit closer though.
Cleopatra - I'm fine with wudu, the problem is with ghusl. I would've posted this in a sister's forum somewhere but I don't want to scandalize anyone either. I feel awkward going to some of the sisters I know because it implies certain things that make some uncomfortable.
I try to fluff my hair here and there while it dries. Does anyone think that the cold air setting on my hair dryer would do the trick? It is cold air...
The water is just regular tap water at home.
