I had my head shaved Christmas 2008, and if I hadn't gotten trim happy between now and then I would probably be somewhere around tailbone length.

I don't get it. Why are previously bald longhairs any stronger or more admiration worthy than any other longhairs? I guess I'm missing the point?

2 reasons

1. Pretty much what Islandgrrl said

2. I have a dirty mind.

Oh! I get it.... :p

Can I blame my cluelessness on midterms?

Hmm I'm not getting it I guess... I hope that doesn't mean I lost my dirty mind :p.
Ah well not knowing sometimes is bliss I guess.

I had a very stubbly short cut for some years, not because of some hair accident, it was intended and I liked to wear it that way, made my work day around dangerous and oily machinery a lot easier.
Growing it out wasn't too hard honestly, I pretty much ignored it for the first months and then got the mullet part trimmed off. Same procedure every few months until I had a blunt bob and then I let it grow from there with annual trims. Hats, headbands and bandanas were a great help during the first time, but otherwise there really isn't anything exciting to say about it.
So I'm not sure why growing out from very short hair is an achievement? I think it get's more mystified than it really is :) hair grows on it's own basically. With some patience your hair will become long, too xcrunr2go.

And yeah, kind of a modly note, just mentioning it so everybody can make an educated decision about posting pics of their own progress or linking to off-site pages regarding this topic, but there is a certain f*t*i*s* about baldness/long hair/shaving. Ahem, yes. Really. And you never know who is reading and getting a kick out of it or tracking back the clicks their page is getting.

Good grief.

I personally admire people who shave their heads because I think it takes a lot of confidence, and then I also admire those who have the patience to leave it grow very long. This is because I can't stop doing things to my own hair. Also I am going natural and I would like to shave my head for a completely fresh start, but know I wouldn't have the confidence.
