I used to use Finesse shampoo and conditioner decades ago. Evidently, they're back, with their signature scent products as well as fragrance-free ones.
I loved the original shampoo and conditioner. If I remember correctly, it detangled my hair beautifully.
The new products are getting great reviews on drugstore.com, etc.
Has anyone here tried them?

That's funny...I saw the title to this thread and thought "they're still around?" I used to use Finesse, too. Are you going to try the new formulations?

Raising hand: I have!
It makes my hair(which is much different than yours -VERY frizzy) quite silky and easy to detangle!
I'd use it more often but it has a lot of silk proteins in it that my hair doesn't agree with in large amounts or frequent use. :(
I gave the 2-in-1 to my son and his hair smells fresh for daaaayyyyyyssss even when he doesn't wash it.

I saw this at Walmart the other day on my shampoo shopping trip.
It has the same blue bottles with the same Finesse logo. I was very tempted to buy it but eventually decided against it and got Infusium 23, which I haven't tried in a long time. (They were out of my normal Loreal EverStrong shampoo AND Aussie 3MM which is my regulars, I was panicing for a moment then decided to try something new)
I think I may give it a go next time I shampoo shop!

I remember using this years ago. I remember how much I liked the scent. I'll have to pick some up next time I need shampoo/cond.

I thought they had been back.... they've been at my Dollar General for at least a year already. I thought the moisturizing shampoo was meh, but the self-adjusting one is lovely (it has ALS, I know, Idc.)

They've been back for a while, but the distribution, I believe, has been limited. It appears that they're getting ready for wider distribution. :flower:

I thought they were all self adjusting(except for the new clean & simple line)?

I (possibly correctly) remember 'moisturizing' & 'self-adjusting' being on the two I tried.... Kay,

And this one-

Those two were at my store before, I'll have to look for the new clean and simple ones :D
I guess they all are self-adjusting ~.~

I sniffed some at the store on the way home. It smells like I remember. I loved it then. However, as an adult I am very sensitive to many fragrances. I'm not sure whether I will buy this.

I used the Finesse Texture Enhancing Conditioner (http://www.drugstore.com/finesse-conditioner-texture-enhancing/qxp27045) this morning after shampooing with Aveda Rosemary Mint.
I applied a generous amount of Finesse conditioner to my hair, concentrating on the length. The conditioner isn't thick, but it isn't watery like VO5; this makes for controlled application. The tangles didn't fall out they way they do when I use Pantene. I combed the conditioner through with a shower comb and clipped my hair up while I completed my showerly duties. Then I rinsed well.
Post shower, detangling was easy
Dry, my hair is blindingly shiny with tons of natural highlights. It feels very soft and silky. Since it's so silky, I was afraid that it wasn't going to be manageable. I needn't have worried. I was able to put my hair up into a beautiful basic bun without it slipping apart.
Now, a word about fragrance...
Finesse smells exactly like it did when I used it decades ago. I believe that it is a green/water fragrance from the fragrance wheel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragrance_wheel), though there is something about its character that reminds me of floral aldehydes like Chanel #5. If there are any actual floral notes, I cannot discern them, which is wonderful, since I cannot abide most floral. I like this fragrance; it's crisp and clean. I don't smell it wafting around my head now that my hair is dry, but I did catch a whiff when I was brushing my hair to put it up.
So, the bottom line...
* I wish that it had a little more slip on wet hair.
* Dry -- soft, silky, shiny, manageable
* pleasant, clean fragrance
I tend to fall in love with products the first time that I use them, then fall out of love with continued use. So, I am going to use this product several times before I determine whether it's "the One." I'll keep you posted. :flower:

There is a rebate coupon here (http://www.finessehaircare.com/?page_id=7) for $2 off any Finesse product.
I'm going to try the conditioner again, I remember being pretty happy with it way back when. :bluesmile

The conditioner seems to have cones, specifically Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethiconol, listed separately - are they 'somewhat water soluble' since they are both present, or not? (Not sure I understand the various cones yet.) I typically CO so I'd like to avoid product build-up.

I used the Finesse line yrs ago and loved it. Also the salon selectives. LOVED that one..
Not sure if Finesse would work on my hair now though as the texture is different

^ Oh wow, that's great. I did end up opening some in the new packaging (volumizing shampoo and conditioner), and it works exactly the same as the last ones. I'll bet they updated the packaging but left it alone. Love the smell of this line..
