Happy Easter to everyone on the LHC! I hope that wherever you are, you had a beautiful day!


Here are a few Easter pictures~ first up, a picture I took of the clouds as the sun rose this morning:

You see, everyone in our church brings flower leis to put on the cross on Easter Sunday~ it's a tradition we started a few years ago. And in case you're wondering, the flag above the cross says, "Jesus is Alive."

And, some hair-do pictures of my look for this Easter~ not too fancy, I'm afraid! I was pressed for time. Just two four-strand French braids with a slanted part and the braided bun on one side:

I really like your dress, hair, everything! Did the tradition arise from a specific event? It's a neat way to celebrate Easter :) We don't have any traditions like that really, but we do eat lamb on Easter - to commemorate the perfect Passover lamb. The leis are beautiful!

Wow, what a surprise to wake up this morning to all your nice responses! Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures :)

About our lei 'tradition'~ well, somebody had the idea a few years back to bring leis for the cross as kind of a 'Thank You' to the Lord on this special day, and we've done it ever since then. It looks different every year!

Several folks asked~ I am a Baptist missionary in Chuuk, Micronesia. Some older maps say "Truk" instead of Chuuk, if you try to find it. Believe me, it's very hard to find unless you know what you're looking for! :p We're about 600 miles southeast of Guam, and 4,000 miles past Hawaii.

I have a Facebook page with a lot more pictures and videos; if you're interested just PM me and I'll send you my address there.
