My friend styled my hair and used hairspray. alot of hair spray.
and its not coming out!
I washed my hair with 2 tblsp baking soda in 2 cups water last night followed by 2 tblsp Vinegar in 2 cups water left to sit for 10 minutes.
when i got up this morning I still had large patches of white hairspray.
soaked hair in the sink in diluted baking soda, it did nothing. I then slathered my hair with evoo. nothing. finally I hopped into the shower and broke out the shampoo. followed by a vinegar rinse.
It's mostly dried now and I still have a bunch of hair spray stuck in my hair!
Someone help! what do i need to use to get this seemingly industrial strength hair spray out!?? I'd prefer something no poo friendly if possible.

Do you know which hairspray and what the ingredients are?

I do not remember. It smelled like peaches and was aerosol based. I do not remember the brand name, and i've never used that product before.

I use Suave Clarifying and it typically gets the hairspray right out. I use a lot, it's Texas and humid, what can I say???

I'd just use a lot of shampoo.

Maybe someone who knows more than me will say differently, but I suspect hairspray and no-poo simply aren't compatible.

The as Anje says you will probably need to use a sulphate-based shampoo. If you really don't want to do that, can you find out from your friend what she used and then Google the ingredients? Without knowing whether the product is water-soluble or coney or whatever nobody can give you the answer.

After thoroughly washing your hair, slather it in conditioner and run a finer toothed comb through it. That'll help get rid of any residual hairspray gunk. The vinegar rinse probably caused the hairspray to gunk up like that.

Most hairsprays don't play well with no-poo. You really need a sulfate based shampoo or clarifying shampoo to get it all out.

Ok, I will try that... and next time I will insist we use my hair gel. I found a hair gel that appears to be poo compatible, haven't had any trouble getting it out.

Update: It worked! It got out 90% of the hair spray. :D I can comb and brush my hair now.
