Hi all,
I'm new to LHC, and I wanted to share with everyone that I stumbled upon a great combination of vitamins that has made real difference in my hair and nails. It was suggested to me(aside from taking my daily plant-based multi) that for migraine provention, I should up my intake of calcium, vit D, magnesium, vit B, and omega-3. I noticed not only a significant reduction in migraines(and I have been to every dr, tried every diet, etc including years at the chiropractor), but a bonus in terrific hair and nail growth of improved quality! It has been nearly a year now, and people tell me all of the time how nice my hair and skin look, and how young I look. It is from the vitamins!!! I should mention that apart from my chocolate addiction, I eat a very clean diet, but those vitamins have literally improved my quality of life! Just had to share in case it might be helpful to someone. :D.
P.s. My hair has grown to below BSL with an almost monthly trim from AP length without me even trying, and my fair is straight and fine.

Oh my goodness, I could have written this! I started to add vitamins and yes, my migraines went bye-bye and I could stop taking the meds for migraines. And yes, hair growing longer faster is a bonus! :) I think all of my meds I was taking somehow slowed my hair growth, if that's possible. But vitamins are amazing!

Is there any reason you don't take a complete multi-vitamin and mineral?

I don't like to deal with handfulls of pills so I just take a single multivitamin and I noticed my shedding down to about 8 hairs a day from about 20. They do work! I'm faithful and take it every day. I don't think they would work if a person was sporadic about it in my opinion.

Firefox, sorry if I didn't make that clear, I always have taken a good plant-based multi...this was along with my multi every day. Thanks for clearing that up for anyone else that may have wondered that too. ;)

I agree! I used to just take a multi-v every once in a while, but now that I've been taking them faithfully for the past year, my hair and nails (and energy level) are in such better shape. (Thanks too for sharing your growth, that's wonderful and encouraging!)

taking extra biotin plus taking a multi has really helped my nails and hair-my nails are finally growing long with no breakage and aren't soft anymore-

I swear by my vitamin regimine too. And, not just for my hair and nails, but overall health! I've reversed periodental disease and prevented gall bladder removal with them.

Religiously taking vitamins for the first time in my life has probably saved my hair from completely falling out after all the bleach damage I did to it. I love vitamins :D woo.. haha..
However I still get migraines. At least one severe one a month, so I am curious as to OP's combination of vitamins. It would be nice to stop the constant headaches and triggering migraines.

I've started taking vitamins a month and a half ago so I was wondering how long will it pass before I see some difference in growth? So far I only feel I've noticed a little bit less shedding. :)

Almost everyone has some vitamin deficiency, I found out a general multivitamin helped me a lot too, not just with my hair, but with skin :)
I started taking fish oil with my sister, mostly to encourage her, getoffmyskittle told me fish oil cuts down on skin oiliness, and my sis needs all the help she can get, and I kinda noticed that even my skin looks better (and I don't have issues like that at all)
I'm babbling now :o

I would say you'll most certainly see a difference within six months. Maybe sooner, but that's when I realized the changes were obvious.

My hair has stopped shedding for a few days now and i thought it was down to me switching shampoos & conditioners but when i used them again just recently still no shedding.
Ive been taking a multivitamin for well over a week now.. could be that :)
I know people say eat a healthy diet and i do but sometimes its hard to fit it all in.

Vitamins are good supplements to what should be an already good diet. Remember to always eat great as well, and try to get all vitamins, minerals, nutrients and what not out of the food you eat too. I eat nearly 10 fruits and veggies a day, for instance (sometimes a whole pepper, for instance)! I think this enhances the effeciency of the vitamin.
Not saying anyone here does it, but sometimes people use vitamins as an excuse to eat poorly, which does more harm than they think. Vitamins aren't there to to allow slouching, so to speak. They are just one small pillar in a good healthy lifestlye. Cut out processed food, eat organic, flush out your system with lots of water and you will notice an even higher rate of improvement, if you have not done so already!

I started taking a multivitamin a few years ago and I have more energy now. I notice a difference with less energy when I don’t take it for a few days. I started taking it because I’m on a very strict diet because of food allergies and intolerances.

For about two weeks I picked up on vitamins and fish oil. It's not soon enough to notice a difference in my hair, but MAN, my skin sure cleared up. About now would be a time when I normally break out but my face was so clear today that I didn't put on any makeup. :D My diet is decent and I've been drinking tons of water too. I'm excited to see if it'll help out my hair.

Loving all of the positive experiences with this... would anyone be willing to share what they take (including brands and dosages) to get such good results? (((gets pen and paper ready)))

I am really happy you have had lots of growth but please do be very careful when using supplements, especially biotin. I know ive said this a few times on the forum but I was taking biotin, along with a hair vitamin which also had biotin in and it pushed me into stage 2 renal failure, ironically I am a renal nurse. I don't take nothing anymore and thankfully my kidneys are OK but I just want to urge people to seek medical advice before taking unnecessary supplements.
I am not trying to lecture anybody and lots take them safely with no problem but for anybody with hypertension especially steer clear of the B group vitamins.
