Hi everybody,

I watched Larry Sim's video "Braid Your Hair Like a Star" on Fox News iMag, and tried his idea. I really liked the way this braid turned out, and it was so easy to do!

The first pictures are from yesterday~ I did a side Dutch-braid in this style.

Today I tried the same idea, but with a fishtail braid this time~ I really liked the loose-look this has:

Love the herringbone braid. Thank you for the video - I'll go watch that right now.

Thank you for posting the link, Arc691! It looks lovely on your hair but I think it would drive me nuts. I like my hair balanced and that side bun braid would bug me no end. Still, interesting to watch (though I cringed with the hairspray he used).

So beautiful! Your color is amazing!! (and the length! Dear lord!)

I saw a lady with a similar style at the playground a couple weeks ago, though her hair was much, much shorter than yours.

Seems like a good style for us "shorties" too!

Very lovely! Thank you for sharing with us, I might give this a try today. :)
Just had to say, I enjoy your threads very much, you always do such pretty feminine styles. (and who wouldn't be envious of your beautiful jeweled clip collection?) :D :flower:

You did a fabulous job! Love your hair! I wish I didn't have layers, pieces fall out when I braid. Someday, someday they won't....

I used long bobby-pins to secure it.

Ok, my hair is a bit short but I have to try this on the weekend.

Your version turned out beautifully.

I also have to mention that I am so glad to see the makers of the video didn't stick to the usual "model" material. I'm still thinking about the various threads on here about women and body image. I must say, this girl was gorgeous and she had really nice hair to boot! If only there had been more models like that when I was a teen.

beautiful. I'm really gonna need to learn how to do various braids. I really like the way this one looks...so elegant. Do you think I could do a decent enough version of this with APL hair?

It's possible. You won't have much length to coil at the end, but that may be an advantage.

I wish I knew how to fishtail-braid... (but can do the dutch and french braid! Anyway I currently have french-braided my hair for nightime ^^)
