View Full Version : What might indicate its time to use a little protein shampoo/condish?

I've heard that it is often (but not always) the case that finer hair may need protein more often than those with coarser hair. Also, I recently clarified, and used a cone free condish, and finally the olive oil is actually seeping in my strands and moisturizing them (I can hear them happily sighing!!!) rather than building up on them. The only thing I am noticing now is that my hair seems to break quicker (ie the strand test) and my fingers/comb sound like they are sometimes snapping through a strand (rather than 'stalling' at a knot). I'm wondering if it's time to add a little of my protein poo to my regular - following a good oiling of course. Any suggestions?

I was just wondering about this, too. My hair seems to like protein in small doses, but I've never tried actually doing a protein treatment so I dunno.

I'm fond of the description found here (http://blackbeautyblackhair86911.yuku.com/topic/511/t/Hair-Breakage-and-Shedding-101.html).
