Im finding with this method (which is great so far) I need alot of conditioner on hand. How much conditioner do you guys buy and where do you get it ?
I ask because I have been using cheap Suave naturals to 'wash' with and then i rinse and put in a good conditioner like Garnier Triple Nutrition and leave that on, and then cold rinse it mostly out.
There are 3 girls in my house with long hair. Im thinkin I should just go to the dollar store and buy up a bunch of cheap conditioners for washing purposes, because it goes so fast.
But so far happy with this method, have the security of knowing im not drying out my hair with shampoo and havent noticed any increased oiliness. Seems perfectly clean each time I wash.

thats what I do, I use suave, white rain (when I can find it) and Vo5 the naturals or fruity types they are cheap and runny just like I like them, then I use the GF triple for the last part

I also dilute my conditioner with water. I even go up to half conditioner and half water. It still works very well and is even runnier, which makes it easier to spread.

I only use one conditioner and that's Inecto coconut moisture miracle or something xD I go through a 500ml bottle in less than five times but it's only four euro or so so that's still acceptable xD
Haven't heard of diluting it though, sounds like a good idea ^_^

I use my conditioner full-strength, but I only do the wash step. It doesn't seem necessary to add more conditioner to my hair after I've already soaked my length in it, at least as a normal matter of course.
It only takes me around 3 palmfuls (give or take) to wash, so a family-size bottle of Suave actually lasts quite a while. At least a month.

I also use Inecto pure Coconut, about 2 or 3 palms full per wash, but don't use anything else. I like Inecto because it's moisturising and has only a few ingredients. It's not available everywhere, so you might have to search for it, but it's a big bottle and not very expensive.

Going to the dollar store to stock up is a great idea. None of the dollar stores around me carry good co-wash conditioners. I usually just grab a bottle of V05 from the grocery store whenever I am there. I don't wash my hair every day, so I don't end up using too much conditioner.

:-( I really wish we had Suave in the Uk, i remember when i went to Florida a few years ago i bought some Suave condish (the yellow one) that plus the heat and my hair felt and behaved amazing.
I use cheap runny condish on roots and coney condish on ends. Seems to work nicely and i clarify once every fortnight.

but to answer your question jillh923, buying in bulk sounds like a good plan!

I tend to buy my conditioner for 70p a 500ml bottle at Asdas! Very few ingredients, I think around 10, which is great when compared to the tesco version! The lucky thing about CO washing is it is very cheap, so when you end up using handfuls of the stuff to work into your roots, you still average about £1.50 a month on hair washing! I also have bought inecto pure coconut which you can seek out at pharmacys in the UK which tends to be around £2 a bottle maximum. :)

Good to know!! Will have to take a trip to Asda! That beats my Sainsburys version. Be good to go on a mission to find the cheapest condish!

This is exactly what I do, but instead of Suave (we don't have that available in here) I use Garnier Ultra Mild. It is great for cleaning the scalp and also great for the ends, so I end up using around two palmfuls on the scalp and one for the length.
I just started the CO method myself, so before I end up stocking on my favourite conditioner, I'll have to use up the other stuff I have.
Some people get along better using different conditioners for scalp and length, seems to be your case. If you're happy with it, keep it up :)

The Asda ones have always been incredible value! You can get 7 of them for under a fiver where I live, and they have never failed me with cleaning power! :D

Stocking up from the dollar store would be a great idea. Most people find the runny conditioners they generally have to work well for CO. I find that GTFN works best of anything I've tried so far for CO, so that's out for me, but you may very well be able to stock up on something that works for you.
