Well I got this recipe from my Mom. She has had classic length hair in her childhood. I thought you may also find it useful.

As she said her scalp has been so sensitive to shampoos and they dried her hair out, so my grandma used Sidr to wash her hair but with a recipe that does not dry your hair at all.

You need egg yolk, Tragacanth and Sidr.

Chop the Tragacanth to as small pieces as possible and soak 2 teaspoones in one cup of hot water overnight or as much as possible (forms a jelly-like solution). add 3 tablespoons of Sidr powder and mix well, then add one egg yolk (I used the egg white for a facial mask) and mix. you may need to change the amount based on your hair length.

Apply to wet hair. Try to apply both to scalp and hair length. You can use a shower cap and give it some time or wash it without waiting. Rinsing takes time and is some how hard! if you use a wide-toothed comb it will be much easier. But to make it easier do not make a mess of your hair over you hair while you are applying. Let them all be in their place.

After rinsing I conditioned my hair as usual. It is not dry at all and shines more than ever!

Tell me about your ideas to improve the recipe and your experience!

Okay I'm super excited cause you're the first one here who talks about sidr.
I have used it as a treatment 2x per week in march and I got some really nice growth, but the application is too messy I can't stand it.Is there any other benefits you know of sidr?
BTW I used it to wash my hair and it doesn't wash out heavy oilings, but I got some serious curl definition with it.

I guess we middle easterners are more used to it than others.
I use it time to time so I can't talk about the benefits, not scientific at all. Well yeah the application and rinsing the whole thing is not so fun! But my hair feels so good afterwards, shiney, with no frizz and as you sad with defined curls. I guess the mixture also does a good protein treatment, which if you need it will help.

My main motivation to use it is my mother's youth hair photos..they are awesome!

Sorry for the late reply. In Iran I find it easily at grocery stores. It is I think some sort of powdered leave but I'm not quite sure. As we have a huge diaspora everywhere in the world you might find it at Iranian/Persian stores around. If you search you will probably find one in your area!
