View Full Version : Another reason to work on good posture

Standing up nice and straight:

Bad posture makes your hair look shorter. I rest my case.

I too am working on having better posture. You look fabulous!! :)

I have been working on my posture too, since my mum told me I am round shouldered (thanks mum!)

Is that a tshirt with the hair lengths marked on it? What a wonderful idea!

I just got a balance ball chair at work to help with posture!

And I LOVE Your shirt by the way! Very clever :D

Thanks for the compliments! What I'm trying to show is that if I slouch, I'm still not even at BSL, but if I stand up straight I'm past it. Bad posture = shorter-looking hair. (But I agree, it's not just my hair that looks better standing up straight)

I could use one of those labeled shirts :)

April 14th, 2011, 10:23 AM
This is so true .... I do need a shirt like that =)

OP, not to hijack, but...I would KILL OR DIE for your haircolor.

Oh. My. Goodness.

That is one color I've NEVER been able to achieve (artificially), but had for just a brief time in my teenage years while my body was transitioning from making blonde hair to making vole colored hair. :p

My friend used to call it "sunset on the horizon."

Wow, thanks! Bad news though: I'm really not sure if that's what my hair really looks like in real life. Between the flash photography and the colour/contrast autocorrect function, I think it's emphasized the red tones a bit more than are really there. In my mental image of myself, my hair is a neutral brown somewhere between chocolate and coffee. Who knows what's real.

FWIW, the red tones probably come from the henna in the Lush Caca Brun and Noir that I use from time to time.

And also: the haircolour in your avatar - a shiny almost-black but softened by being a bit brown - is what I really want. Wanna trade?

Your hair looks magnificent! I hope my hair will look as beautiful as that someday. Though, when I do grow what little virgin hair I have out to that length, the color will be much less fun and vivid than that (darn you, ashy light brown natural color).

As for posture, the only time I notice how bad my posture is happens to be when I'm driving. I have my seat set so that I have to have good posture in order to be comfortable in the seat, but.. it's always so hard to stick with it.

I'll have to stand up straight when I take a picture of my length later!

I will remember that lol ^^ And your shirt (and hair too) is awesome.

April 14th, 2011, 12:41 PM
Just one more reason for me straighten up and stand/sit right!

Love your shirt by the way. When my hair gets long enough I'm going to have to create one of those. :D Genius.

April 14th, 2011, 12:55 PM
I've got my shirt, now I'm waiting to need to make hair measuring trousers. That will be a day of glory.

April 14th, 2011, 01:43 PM
Very true. Yet, on the other hand, it is hard to sit on a chair or carseat with a headrest when you've got a bun on and thus the posture worsens.

Your hair is amazing!!!

April 14th, 2011, 01:49 PM
Lol, love the shirt!

April 14th, 2011, 02:01 PM
Yeah, I tend to slouch. A LOT! But when I take lenght shots I've allways straightened up. Don't ask me why!

April 14th, 2011, 03:39 PM
great difference, do you have the trousers to go with the top?

I could do with the top too!

April 14th, 2011, 03:46 PM
great difference, do you have the trousers to go with the top?

I think it will be a couple years at least before I need trousers. But I'll definitely make myself a pair when the time comes!

April 14th, 2011, 06:18 PM
^^ sounds like a good plan :D

April 15th, 2011, 06:42 AM
Haha, that's a good way of reminding oneself to stand/sit straight at all times :D
Also, if you have an updo, good posture makes your neck appear longer and slimmer ;)

April 15th, 2011, 09:12 AM
whoa your hair is incredibly shiny. :)

I was a ballet dancer and since young I trained to have good body posture.

April 15th, 2011, 12:32 PM
I just totally stole your shirt idea.

April 15th, 2011, 01:49 PM
How cool that it made such a difference. Who would have thought?

April 15th, 2011, 02:04 PM
Your hair looks amazing in both pictures! :) I love the shine.
