I am going to an awards dinner this evening and would like to do something with my hair other then my usual messy bun, my hair is only APL so it needs to be something suitable for shorter hair. Also I am awfull at french twists so I'm definatly not doing that.

Any suggestions? links to videos would be awsome.

Darnit, I was totally going to suggest a French twist. How about a Gibson tuck? Those can look really soft, but also sophisticated. Here's a tutorial (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=49).

My first thought was a french twist as well, how about a sock bun, those are pretty easy peasy? Or a half up do?

I haven't done a gibson tuck in ages, intransingentia for reminding me. I really should practice french twists at some point they look lovely but I've tried before and mine always look kinda rubish.

Gibson Tuck sounds lovely, as does a half-up style. I haven't tried this myself yet, but maybe a flipped cinnabun for the 'up' of the half-up would work?
I'm not sure if your hair is long enough for a French braid (the tucked version is very beautiful and elegant, I think).
