Hi there, I'm a newbie and have a couple of questions if you could please help me out.

How to make your hair as straight as possible without heat?
So what are some drying styles that you would recommend that will straighten my hair the most without using any heat. I was thinking a combed back pony tail and then using several hair bands to wrap around my hair as the tail goes down, like a hair band every 1/2 inch (will take a long time I know) then wrap some cloth around the tail and let it dry for 3-4 hours. I know it won't be like straight STRAIGHT but it will be like wavy/straight instead of curly, you think that'll work? Or have any more suggestions?

Going from dark brown to a vibrant red with the honey method and henna
How possible is this? I currently have hair dyed a dark brown color and I want to get the tone lighter and a bright red. Do you think doing about 15-20 honey treatments and then using bright red henna will do the trick? Maybe not quite as bright as the picture below, but as close as possible to that.

I don't know much about hair straightening - best to wait for more experience LHC members.

Since your hair is *dyed* - rather than virgin - dark brown, it will take a long time and be very hard to lift in colour. what is your virgin colour? If it is, say, light brown, you could 1) start growing it out, then 2) lighten your dyed portion of hair, slowly and steadily, with honey and cinnamon, and 3) strand test to see if the henna colour you get is one you like. If not, lighten a bit more. You can use brush hairs for the strand test, gathered in a clump and oriented root up.

I would be very interested in your results, since I dye from a medium brown to a bright red using Schwarzkopf luminance. No damage at all so far - hair so very healthy with LHC treatment - but I'm interested in switching to henna if it's possible to henna and lighten.

Welcome to the LHC Gogirlanime and Celebriangel :)! I think it would be difficult to go from a darker (chemically) brown to that vibrant manic panic looking red. At least without bleach and a flaming pink-red hair dye. I would start by doing some research on how henna takes to chemically colored hair. Myself I'm not sure.

But I think you might come up with some pretty auburn or more reddish colors using honey and the sun, both of these lighten my hair a bit. Caution: the sun is obviously drying. And then using henna. Have you read much about henna? Nightshade's article and also the hennaforhair website are good places to start. The hennaforhair website shows all kinds of different mixes, starting colors, and the color results. This will help you get an idea of the different herbs and spices people mix to create different color effects.

I wish I had some natural suggestions for straightening your hair, but you're a 3a/3b, which is quite curly! So if I were to suggest something natural it would be in terms of caring for and making your curls look best.

I'm sorry that wasn't much help! Perhaps other members could add...

I think the drying method may cause bumps from the hairties if you put them on tight. Sorry, I don't have much say in this since my hair is naturally straight. But anyways, Welcome to LHC! :)

I do this when it's wet, and then I let it dry and take it out.

Found this on the page you gave me, super amazing!! I can't wait to try this!

My hair is sooooooo soft and shiny too, it's so soft because it's almost perfectly straight but without the heat damage

THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!!

Now I need to do my research to see just how close I can get to that red with honey and henna
