Ive been trying to find the name for this type of hair scrunchie for ages. Ive seen people wear them in a high pony tail. I will try my best to explain.

People wear them according to their hair colour. Say if a girl has blonde hair, she wears a smooth, circular blonde hairpiece in a tight ponytail, it looks like it is part of her hair.

:) I don't know if anyone understands what im saying, I tried to find photos to give an example of what I mean but of course I can't google that description lol. It's been bugging me though because I want to buy one.

I really don't know, but are you sure it's not a wrapped ponytail, meaning that their own hair is wrapped around the elastic to cover it.

I know exactly what you mean, I've seen them (must be a UK thing). But I have no idea what they're called, nor where you get them!

Something like this (http://www.sports-warehouse.net/imitation-hair-ponio-scrunchie-ring-light-blonde-11815-p.asp)? (Also seen here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAIR-RING-SCRUNCHIE-DONUT-PONIO-BOBBLE-NATURAL-COLOURS-/140519508397?pt=Women_s_Accessories_UK&var=&hash=item6672ed7da8)?)

With one of these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Velcro-2-way-hair-styling-tool-Bun-maker-pony-tail-/120662786574) underneath?

I bought one of those at Family Dollar for about $1-2. Not a lot of money. No special name for it. They also had braided headbands.

Is it one of these? (http://reviews.sephora.com/8723/P254649/reviews.htm)

I'd call it a matching ponytail wrap, I guess. Or a dohickey.

Thanks everyone for the replies and for trying to give examples of what I was talking about.

I googled each term and finally find this photo under "Ponytail wrap" so Anje I think you maybe right.:)

Anyway here is a photo of Scarlett Johansen's ponytail, this is exactly what I was talking about. What is the technical name for it though? because in ebay I searched it and it gave me a list of hair extensions to wrap around the ponytail but I just want the hairband or to do it with my own hair?

I think I've seen them in Boots, but only in a very big one (Lakeside).

Just put your hair in a ponytail, take a section from the underneath part of the ponytail and wrap it around a secure with a bobby pin (kirby grip?). No need to spend money on anything!

in the picture she has used her own hair wrapped around an elastic, as brighteyes7 said, just make a pony, secure with a small elastic, take some hair from the underside of your pony and wrap it around the base, then you can pin it with bobby pins or tuck it in if you can manage. This way you do not need to buy something that may or may not match your haircolor.
