Not the kind that makes your hair fall out, the kind that stimulates new growth and stops shedding!!!

I heard from my sisters friend that she has to use this forever to keep her hair from thinning. My hair, as we all know, is thinning but apparently everything i tested was completely normal.

I loose about 500 hairs a day, it's pretty insane now. It just keeps getting thinner.

I do beleive that stopping brushing my hair is contributing. And i blow dry again which probably isn't helping. But the concern is not the quality of the hair, its still quite healthy, the concern is the density. My hair falls out, profusely.

Does anyone use one of these or can recommend one that works???

I think this is kind of my only option left. I do really want long hair, short hair SUCKS!

I've heard of the HairMax (http://www.hairmax.com/) comb.
I read results online and in most cases it worked, in even more it took shedding and 8 months or more before they aw results, and in about 5% of cases it didn't do a darn thing.

I've seen an "imitation (http://www.lasergain.com/)" one going around, that claims to have the same lasers, infact more than double the amount, in an "ugly" unit that costs less than half the price (if you buy on sale at a certain site) but i'm not sure to believe that...hence doing my homework first.

I want to see if anyone here has tried it and if it worked.

Hmm looks interesting! I'd like to know if anyone has used this too. I've also been through massive shedding...but it looks like it's stopped. However, I'm feeling a bit superstitious because I first noticed it shedding after a trim on April 16th last year, and it's nearly April the 16th again!!! (Yup, I know deep down that's stupid...but meh...I DON'T want to start losing more hair!!)

Hairmax website says the product "is indicated to treat Androgenetic Alopecia and promote hair growth in males who have Norwood Hamilton Classifications of IIa to V patterns of hair loss and Fitzpatrick Skin Types I to IV." All three(!) of the testimonials on Lasergain are male - perhaps mates of the vendor - none offer before and after shots.

I'd suggest you get a second medical opinion if there is no lifestyle explanation (stress, diet) for your hair loss. :(

firefox- i noticed that! That's why i'm asking if anyone here tried! :)

Who knows, i might not even go with it, i'd only buy it if i were sure and if it made a big difference. I'm a really poor student, using ALL the money i've saved up my whole life to pay off YET ANOTHER course i'm putting myself through and rent. Yeh, go me...

I've taken the liberty of copying and pasting the following from your other thread, because I really don't understand where your head is at. In no way am I saying modern medicine has all the answers, the human body is too complex for that. Maybe you don't have health insurance right now, if so it's fine for you to just say so as I don't understand the Australian healthcare system. :o Nutrition has the power to help your body heal itself or at the very least help you study successfully! There are a few of us on LHC who have healthcare backgrounds that can point you in the direction of the research if that is what you want. This gadget is not even proven to work for male pattern baldness, the study is too small.

I think it is something internally. A friend of a friend had the same thing, she went to a dermatologist and her hair has improved. So i think i'll see him, probably in a few months, i just cant be bothered rushing into it, it can't get much worse. If he saved her, he can save me.

I've been referred to a Gasto-interologist who diagnosed me. But the hair fall began years before that (Like I'm talking 6 years here, got ibs last November which is just over a year). It shouldn't be solely that, BUT it definitely is contributing some what. Saying this, i got tested for vitamins and such and my levels were all good other than vitamin D which i am supplemented with now.

Firefox- i do not believe there is something nutritionally wrong. I eat pretty good given my limitations. In fact, i used to eat REALLY good and as i mentioned my hair has been falling for years.

I have little faith in nutrition simply because i am NOT allowed to EAT IT! Therefore there is really no improvement in that field even if i have a deficiency, which i checked i did not, in the one i did i'm on supplements.

My head is at wanting anything that will fix this, i am going to see a specialist dermatologist, but that is sometimes in mid june the earliest because I'm busy with tafe, rent, etc.

I asked a friend and she said the lazer works for her, that's where i'm getting my hair info from, you could say. She's referred me to the dermatologist also. That's why i now know a direction of change to try to improve my hair, though i'm pretty sure my hair is just normal.
