So, I was absolutely certain I had seen a thread with this in it! But alas, after a forum search with no avail did I uncover it!

Tonight I'm going to a 1950's themed dance/party and cannot seem to find any good, non-heat based, styles that would go well for tonight! My hair is a bit shorter than BSL currently. I have bangs that hit right above my eyebrows. I lack foam curls but have a huge gallon bag of strips of rags for curls. Any ideas or any links to good tutorials?

Victory rolls in the front, hair in the back gathered in a side pony, ends curled and with a pretty flower on the tie?

Or, how about this one? (I love Iris, btw, She's another long-hair guru who inspires me not to chop.)

A high pony, curled. Kinda like Sandy in Grease.

Ahh, I'm too late! (Even if I'd found the thread yesterday it would have been too late b/c the 50's one I do is meant to be done overnight). In my profile I've got a vintage hairstyle blog going, but I guess you wouldn't be able to see it for another five posts or so...

I would suggest the girl at Vixen Vintage, this fantastic everything-vintage blog, has a couple of tutorials for 40's and 50's hairstyles, and they're [relatively] hair-friendly. If you like vintage stuff I definitely recommend Googling her. For your next party, you know.

Please put up photos, if you have them/when you have enough posts, so we can see what you ended up doing. I looove a lot of vintage styles.

I know its too late but for future reference, this overnight style looks very 1950's (ish)

I also second the picture request! Have 1950's party to go to at the end of May, so would love some inspiration :)
