Hello :), can anyone please help me with a new hairstyle. I wanted to recreate these braids but I have no idea how to do them, im useless at styling my hair I usually just wear it in a bun. Sorry about the photo quality just click to enlarge.

It's hard to tell from the picture (my eyes aren't what they used to be) but it looks like the top braid might be a French "dutch" braid down to the nape, then the rest is divided in 3 sections, then each section is individually braided.

Then the 3 individual braids and braided into a single braid.

I think it looks like she took a front bit of her hair and braided it back and then used that as one of the sections and braided it in. I think.

Okay, I'm tackling this! :) (I might try to recreate the style later today on myself, in which case I'll try and take pictures to post)

Part hair down the middle, and separate out a section from each side of the part, about 2" wide going from the middle part to the ear (for the accent braid you can see running along the hairline around her face)
Dutch braid the sections you separated out all the way down and secure (like a cornrow, basically)
Separate out another 2"x2" section from the base of your parted hair on each side and braid that all the way down, secure
French braid the remaining hair on each side all the way down (using that phrase a lot, lol)
Braid all three braids together and secure. :)

To me, it looks like the model is wearing extensions, and to have this braid come out alright, you'll probably need at least waist length hair, but I'm curious to see attempts! :D

ETA: Here's my shortie attempt :)

This is how I see it, too.

Thank you! :D As you can see I tried it out on hair that needed to be washed, and my layers made it very messy looking from a few angles... I'll have to practice as well, but I'm very glad you posted the picture! :) Now we have a new style in out repertoire, if we can get it to look decent lol! ;)
