Pili Annulati/Ringed Hair Does anyone else have this?

I have an extremely rare disease of the hair shaft called pili annulati. Each individual hair looks striped or "beaded," and it causes porous, fragile thin hair. I know we have threads for thin/fine hair, but I'm wondering specifically if anyone else here has that problem. It can cause alopecia. :( Any cosmetologists have any input on special care for this type of hair? There's almost nothing on the Internet about it because it is so rare.

The only things I could find was a few discussions about something called pili torti. I haven't heard of pili annulati before. You might want to look at these threads, but I don't think they are the same thing at all. Welcome to the boards by the way!!!
