View Full Version : At the end of the day my braid looks like...

I always read posts from people complaining that their braids don't look right because they have layers or pieces sticking out or they get frizzy... and I always think "isn't that just normal?" Here's my braid after a not at all strenuous day (this is actually a really good "end of day braid" for me, no clue how it ends up like this). I'm wondering now if I'm the only one with a rebellious braid (I doubt it!). Anyone else care to share? :face:

That's mine at the end of the day, too. I think we're normal :)

Nope. Mine does the same thing. You're normal. :)

Yes, it is perfectly normal for a braid to have some slight of "frizz" or flyaway hairs in it after wearing it all day.

No ma'am! That is definitely how my braids look as well.

(also, yay for this being my first post ever!)

My braids look like that by the end of the day, too, especially if I braid my hair when it's damp. Don't worry about it. :)

I don't know why, but my dry braids stay a bit smoother than my damp ones. You'd think it would be the other way around...

I get the exact same too.

Has anyone found that oil helps? I have too many layer to tell, it all falls out of a braid almost immediately.

I've used Chi Silk Infusion to help smooth the layers together so they don't stray out so much. Hope this helps!

I figured everyone else had the same problem :) I wanted to see everyone else's frizzy braids though!

Welcome, dazeydayze!

I will have to post my braid whenever I wear a braid. Probably tomorrow :p but yes, it ends up looking like that.

Oh, yes. Here's two (although admittedly after a very active day of swimming, hiking, etc., but nonetheless typical hairstyle deterioration):

Braided just for you! :p
I'd say my braids look decent when freshly braided, but as you can see, the shorter layer is already falling out!

My braid is on day two right now and you can hardly see the braid for the halo of frizz! French/dutch braids seem to stay better for me, not sure why. I haven't ever had layers, so that's certainly not the issue

Perhaps pinning it up when you sleep? :hmm:

This braid hasn't been through too much and it looks like a complete mess. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b255/lostsoule/IMG_2510.jpg

Oh my. I shall have to braid my hair for my next exercise class and show you all what it's like after an hour or two of movin', shakin', and lying on my back doing crunches...crazy hair everywhere! So, IOU everybody. ;)

Lostsoule77- Woah! Your hair color looks the same as mine in that lighting w/flash. Except.. when I look at your other photos, your hair is a lot darker than mine.

Mine will look even worse. I have tons of wiry hairs that stick straight out all over. :/..

I think i may have just found my hair twin. Very similar colour, and we use the same coloured elastics!

Oil usually helps me :)

My braids (however short) always look like that at the end of the day. I usually just take it out of the braid and "floof" it with my hands and flip it upside down for a bit so my hair looks pretty again. n.n I have an obsession with finding a silver lining in everything... :P
