at a loss as to where in the straight to wavy spectrum my hair fits in. The front can get loose curl like things but the backs pretty straight, so not sure what to pick. Anyone know? (The photos are with washed air dried hair.)

and with all the hair color threads lately I was wondering where I fit in, my ends are darker (dye) and the above photos are from my bathroom which makes everything a bit red. So here are my roots:

color? light auburn maybe?

waves, it' s hard to tell as your hair is still relatively short. With what you've got going around your face, it looks like you're almost curly - that is, beyond wavy.

I'd place you around 2b or 2c: it'll be easier to tell when your hair grows a bit longer.

One thing that helps (for me anyway, having mixed type hair) is to do an average. So your straighter bits (back) is more like 2a, let's say, whereas those front ringlets are more like 2c or even 3a, so I'd say 2b, as the average.

Your hair is very pretty; can't wait to see it grow!

I would say light auburn too. Very pretty color! Like Katze said it is hard to tell with shorter hair but I would said 2b also right now. You can always reevaluate when it gets a bit longer. Pretty hair!!!

Thanks both of you. I really wouldn't have thought my hair was auburn, but maybe I'm still remembering when my hair was blonde then golden brown. Wonder where the red came from!

As for the curl type, if anyone has a similiar type please let me know. I am trying to fugure out how to get my hair not to frizz. I guess I should also check out the wurl & curl thread... just not sure if I qualify as wurly!

Your roots look dark blonde to me. As for type, I need to see more length.
