It was sort of on a whim. I hopped in the shower and grabbed the conditioner bottle to CWC. Then I paused and thought, hmm, why not? I have to work nightshift tonight, and the dudes I work with wouldn't notice if I poured motor oil on my head and walked around that way. Plus the place I work smells so bad, no one cares about much else anyway LOL

So, you'll have to understand I've never actually read the process for CO washing, because I thought it sounded crazy.:o So hopefully what I did was right. I just dumped a ton of it on my hair and rubbed the scalp down well, left it marinate for 10 minutes-ish then rinsed.

It's wet now, so no telling what my result might be. I'll have to update when it's dry.

Also, I have a bottle of Suave Naturals Coconut. Is that a good one for CO? Does it have cones in it? I'm not sure about a couple of ingredients. Actually, I'm not even sure where the bottle came from. I think I may have bought it when camping some time ago...:D

oooh you have used a good condish for coing! suave naturals is used by a lot of peeps here that co! As far as i know suaves naturals is cone free so is a good co to use.
just make sure that you scrub your scalp well when COing and some peeps find they have to leave it for 5 mins or more before rinsing! i only leave my condish on for 2-3 mins!

Lots of people think Suave Coconut is the best CO conditioner. No silicones, unless they've recently changed it. (My hair dislikes it, sadly -- it's the one Suave Naturals condish with protein, and my hair hates the protein.)

I didn't use the Suave. I used my Pure Results. I wanted to make sure the Suave was Cone free first:)

well... i would try the suave naturals unless of course you get great results from the Condish you have just used! peeps do say that using cone free condish for CO washing can delay build up i think! but i am experimenting with cone conditioners at the moment and my hair is feeling great soo far! i guess you just need to experiment with different conditioners to find what works for your hair! i find CO washing is kinder on my hair even if i do need to wash my hair a little more often! my hair has got thicker and healthier and i have been COing for only 2 months! every now and then i will do a CWC wash (about once every 3 weeks)

Well, the conditioner you use makes a big difference. For me, personally, Suave just can't get me clean. I use whole foods brand herbal mint, because at is better than a shampoo, but it still cleans well. I think minty/citrus conditioners for oily hair work well for cowashing (Trader Joes refresh was also really good). Just throwing it out there

Good luck :cheese:

COing works best if you clarify your hair first - -Making sure you strip out any cones from your last wash and condition and any leave-in, gel or spray you may have used.

I don't use cones, Pure Results has no cones, no Paraben, no gluten, no sulfates etc. I also don't use products like hairspray, gel, mousse etc. If I don't like like the results this time I'll try the Suave.

Sounds like you did it right!

I think I got the best results when I let the conditioner sit for 5 or 10 minutes first, then added a little water and scrubbed it in before rinsing. That could be something to try if you aren't crazy about the results that you get. :)

So far, (not dry yet...it takes forever it seems) I'm impressed. I think it'll be a little limp, but not greasy looking.

Suave conditioner doesnt get my hair clean, I have a very oily scalp. VO5 kiwi lime conditioner did it for me. But I have to use it on my dry hair first, let it sit for 20 mins and then rinse. If Suave doesnt work for you either you could try VO5 and see how you like it :)

I like the limp look. My hair is so curly that when its limp it isn't really limp but slightly weighed down which I like. If you find your hair is too flat you can try COing twice in a row- a lot of people say it makes their hair fuller. Let us know!

I use the Suave Tropical Coconut for EVERYTHING -- washing, conditioning, and leaving in. Totally cone free!

For me it's really important to rinse very, very well, because my hair is pretty fine and straight and if I don't get enough conditioner rinsed out it looks very greasy and weighed down. But when I do manage to rinse enough I love CO :D

Well, I had to go to work (nightshift) so since it was mostly dry (slight dampness still though) I bunned it and left. I staggered home 12 hours later exhausted as always, braided it with my eyes already half closed and crawled into bed to pass out. This afternoon when I was getting ready to go back to work...yay nightshift:rolleyes:...I took the braid out and pulled my hair around in front of my shoulder to detangle it. This is the first time I've really "looked" at the hair (dry) post CO wash. Not greasy or limp, but super megawatt shiny. Way shiny. Pantene TV commercial shiny.

I'll be trying it for awhile to see what my long term results are. So far, it's good. Plus, Pure Results is super awesome and it smells so great I don't mind using more of it.

I tried CO today for the first time too! My hair really loved it! I also used the miracle water potion ( citric acid and Vitamin C) for hard water. I think I need to rinse more, as my hair is a tad greasy, but overall, it feel lovely. I'm going to check out some conditioners, so where do you get Pure Results? :)

Either online or from one of the salons that carries it. :)
