Homemade hair devices

Good Afternoon,
I am considering asking my father in law to make me some hair sticks and or forks. He makes all kinds of pens and what nots out of wood, bone and resin. Thinking that hair accoutrements would be along the similar vein. Does anyone make their own and have the dimensions or where to get directions? :heartbeat
