I know there's a thread of updos for APL hair, but I think there are lots of girls[and/or guys] here who are between BSL and WL, and if we all contribute one hairstyle we can make a fantastic collection! Rules:
1)hair does not have to be BSL-WL necessarily, but the updo has to work for that length of hair
2) no heat can be involved[duh xD]

And that's it!

My contribution: the 3strand cinnamon bun or the 'vortex' bun
Divide your ponytail into 3 strands. starting with the rightmost one, twist counterclockwise, and wrap counterclockwise , pinning al the way, until you reach the left side of your head. then take the middle strand and repeat until you reach where you stopped pinning the previous section. repeat with the last section. then take the first section and continue to wrap around the bun, about 1/3 of the way around. follow with the next section, the the next. Repeat until you run out of hair to pin(:

I'd tell you to look at my album but that's not working. I do an English braid bun.

I'm wearing a french braid right now, which I was planning to tuck but didn't.

I loved the Gibson tuck when my hair was closer to BSL but it's kinda too long for it now.

This crown braid came out pretty well despite my layers, at nearly waist length: http://www.oncewed.com/diy/crown-braid-hairstyles-tutorial/ It wasn't easy to do an upsidedown french braid though!

Knot buns, infinity buns, nautilus buns.

Here's a good one from the early 1900's: http://www.britishpathe.com/video/a-simple-coiffure

The Lazy Wrap bun held with a hair stick or beak clip. Dutch, French, or rope braids. I like to bun the tail of a French style rope braid (looks elegant). Braided buns look good too. Double braids. Top knot. Sock bun. I haven't gotten the hang of a Gibson tuck yet (working on it).

What's the deal with resurrecting a thread from 2011? Why not just start a new one?

This style is so simple and elegant. At the moment I am into French Pleats held in with scroo pins.

That's beautiful! And so unique. I love the looseness, the loopies, and the non-twistedness of it... What's it called? Instructions maybe?

If you go to youtube and look for Downton Abbey style hairdo's you will find a tutorial which shows you what to do.

I like the lazy infinity bun, held with a stick.
Looking for some more updo's to do!
