:DHi, I'm allison and I'm new here. I'm kind of looking for a beginner's guide[if you will] to growing out your hair. What types of shampoos& conditioner's I'm supposed to use and how to use them, what oiling is, what it does and how to do it, how to get inexpensive 'hair toys', what products I should use/not use, etc. MUCH APPRECIATED! :cheer:

Okay I'll try to answer some of your questions....

Oiling is using a veggie (Olive, Avocado), fruit (Coconut) or nut (Sweet Almond) or misc (Jojoba and many more) oil in your hair before a wash or to tame the hair, in a braid. It can be almost anything or anytime. Usually you want oils that are unrefined cold pressed and in their 'virgin' state. Articles are good sources of info.

Now growing out your hair... that's hard... I'm still learning everyday. You gotta "baby" your hair. Cut all the bad stuff out... Some brushes can hurt your hair. Some normal activities like using the "blow fryer" can be detrimental in the long run.
Here is another article.

and hair toys... I don't have any (and I'm think I'm of a select few on here- Maybe soon) but there is an article for that I"m sure...

If there is anything else I can help with let me know...

ANd happy growing!
