View Full Version : Generally speaking, how hair friendly do you think stretchy cotton hairbands are?

There is a style that I want to be my go-to style and it would incorporate a cotton stretchy hairband. I don't think it would cause bad noticeable damage (since, for example, many women regularly wear haircoverings that have a stretch material around the perimeter). What are your thought?

I would say they are extremely gentle. No seams, no plastic, no metal, no rubber, nothing. About as gentle as a hair restraint can be

I agree ... very safe. I use one with a really wide top for yoga to keep my layers from flopping everywhere when I'm upside down.

I think they are very safe! I use one to hold up my sleeping bun, because I want a looser hold than a haritie.

I wear a stretchy cotton or lycra tube under my head scarf every day.

From my experience - it is super gentle and I haven't seen any hair breakage along the top of the head or traction hair loss.
