After my last oil shampoo approx 9 days ago my ends seemed crunchy and since my scalp still looked and smelled clean I oil shampooed just the ends, then applied a bit of cone serum. THEN I wrapped the whole thing, doobie wrap style and went to bed - all I can say is shazam!! The crunch has disappeared - silky ends. And it didn't take half of forever to dry since just the ends were damp.

I've been doing something semi-similar. If my ends are feeling dry and I'm having a shower anyway, I'll oil-shampoo them but not bother much higher up (except the lemon rinse, which I try to get all over everything). If my scalp feels a bit greasy but my length is still fine, I'll do a scalp wash with a very small amount of dilute regular shampoo, and not do anything to the ends except let them get some lemon rinse when I rinse my scalp. Plus often I still do a whole-head oil wash. It just depends what it feels like my hair is in the mood for on any given day.
