The nicest looking one is a relative statement, but I personally prefer cinnamon buns :D I think braided cinnamon buns look nice, as do rose buns.

I suggest you take a look at the hairstyles in the articles section. :)

Many long hairs prefer to wear their hair up because it protects the fragile ends and they don't have to deal with constant tangling.

You might want to compromise by wearing your hair in a half up. Or perhaps try a sock bun.

When it gets longer, you can try a cinnamon bun, or braids. a gibson tuck.

HEY! I am in the same boat as you. I have been trying so hard to find updos I can do, I have had short hair all my life practically, and never really put in anything but a pony. Yesterday I spent several hours trying to do different styles but my hair was too short/layered/slippery and it was getting really frustrating! I finally figured out how to do a sock bun for the first time. I did a smaller one than most people because my hair is on the short side, I haven't measured lately but it's not even touching my shoulders yet. Here is the link that helped me.http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_eZDHOuHFQ (http://http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_eZDHOuHFQ)

There was many others, but this girl had shorter hair than me, so I knew if she could do it, I could!
I am going to be researching more hairdos today, if you want, friend me, we can share results, findings! Good luck!
