I took these pictures of my friend Mee's hair last Sunday night~ isn't this one of the most exquisite up-do's you've ever seen?!

That is amazing, must've taken a lot of time and care! :)

Only thing is, is Mee okay with her photos being posted here?

OMG I love this :crush:
What's her hair length? Could you please ask her for instruction for this updo and share? :o
I understand it's a lace braid all along the hairline like a lace crown braid, and then reiterate with the hair inside the circle, then braid the remainder and coil on top, right? though the loose braid over the ear goes against this guess... I'm baffled.

ETA No, I think it's the other way about, you start at the top of head and then lace braid in spirals. Hope Acr691 will come with explanations. I'd really love to know the how-to.
I even attempted it though it's so puny to that girl's do:

Excuse the frizz and flyaways, it's damn difficult and yet more difficult with my layers! and I just can't do such tiny braids!
I guess if start with ponytail before braiding it will get that hat-like lift on top. I braided right away and mine is more flat.

Wow, she did a brilliant job! I can't imagine making such tiny neat braids, it must have taken quite a while.

Bump! to call Arc691's attention  :)

Having failed with making such tidy tiny braids I decided to try the same principle (hope I figured it right) in a simpler execution:

It is essentially a lace crown braid upside-down or inversed. Looks rather interesting, I think, and holds really well :cheese: Haven't seen such yet, can I call it a new style?
