Hey there! So I have taken to wearing scarves (love them!) but I have a little problem. I am using some styles from tznius using long wide rectangular scarves. Now even though they stay put pretty well, as they are a lighter fabric, there can be movement and some gentle rubbing along the nape, and once in a while I need to be conscious whether any hair is trying to fall out the bottom. I've been thinking of a snood, but in the meantime I have a Goody stretchy hair band I could wear underneath which sort of secures the hair and doesn't seem to move around. Which do you think is the more gentle option - a lighter softer fabric that might gently rub against your hair or a stretchy hairband that keeps it still but presses against the hairs?

Hi there!
I wear a scarf every day and put a tube/headband cotton underscarf underneath the main rectangular or square scarf. The underscarf is the size of a neck warmer but worn like a giant headband. I find it protects the hair on top of your head from constant rubbing and breakage.
I've tried snoods, but if its not secure, or if I move around too much, the whole scarf can fall off. The tube/headband stays in place all day.
Experiment and see what works best with your head shape and wrapping style.

I have seen so many great pictures of hair worn with scarves lately that I have been inspired to try it out on myself. This weekend I picked up a silk scarf that is the longer and more narrow type. I twisted it loosely, wrapped it around my head twice and tied it at the neck. I couldn't believe how easy it was, it stayed in place all day and looked great! I've tried other types of fabric and lengths in the past, but they haven't worked very well, so you could try silk in a longer type of scarf??
