Hey ladies, I need some hair-care advice!
When I let my hair dry naturally, it is about a 2c, maybe a 3a on certain days. I have been experimenting with it lately, and I've been combing it gently while it dries. This gives my waves about a 1c/2a look. I like it, but my problem is I get really poofy hair. Less frizz, more poof. How do you get your hair to lay flat all of the way down?
Also, how do I get great waves? I have tried oiling it, putting it in a bun for a day. Nothing I do seems to give it nice looking waves. Am I doing something wrong? I know I have great curls when I let it dry naturally, but I want some pretty waves all of the way down with less of the frizzy/poofyness.
I want something kind of like this:

And after being combed dry, oiled, and put in a bun all day mine looks like this (it is unnaturally sleek today, usually there is more "poof"):
