Maybe it's just the fine texture of my hair, or maybe I didn't explain what I wanted clearly, but would you call this a side swept bang?
I think I am going to have to train it to stay on the side, it does NOT want to on its own.
OI. I should have known better.
I asked for my fringe to be trimmed up and side swept bangs to be cut in. Can you even tell much of a diff? I can't.
( the one by the tree is before, all taken today)
At least she didn't chop it all off with hedge clippers.:D

I'm not sure I understand... that is what I know as a side-swept bang. Maybe I'm missing something..?

Yes I would call those side swept bangs and I think they look great :)
My hair is very fine like yours and that's how my bangs always came out. There is only so much you can get out of bangs with fine and thin hair. It is really hard to train them to go where you want I'd always have to blow dry them.

A lot of people with bangs style them to stay put, so I guess you'll have to train them, if you didn't have that side part before.

Yeah it is probably the fault of my fine hair, RRR. If I don't move them to the side they look weird and stick out strangely.
I was a little nervous even having her touch my hair, because she was old and had SUPER short hair. But I guess she didn't mess me up too much..

That's pretty much how my side-swept bangs look.

I think they are cute on you. Bangs are sometimes hard to get used to, but I think they compliment your face nicely:)

I would think they are a tad short for side swept.. but they will be what I would think of as side swept in no time... I think either way your hair looks great!

They look like sideswept bangs to me, that's what mine always looked like if I didn't have them shellacked into place with products.

(and for the record, my stylist has short and crazy dyed hair and I have no problem trusting him with my hair... dunno why their hairstyle or age would really matter as long as they have the skills and eye to find a balance between doing what you ask and what your hair texture will allow)

You're right, it's just that I have had some bad experience with older ladies and their own ideas of style:rolleyes:
Maybe I have a little age prejudice when it comes to my hairstylist, I just prefer them to either be fairly young, or have long hair.
It makes no sense, but welcome to my brain :eyebrows:

Yup, definitely sideswept bangs. They are a bit shorter than your usual ones, but you see you they get longer as they taper into the rest of your hair which pretty much defines them as sideswept bangs.

By the way, you look like a fair-haired Emily Blunt, I'm sure you get that all the time.

Yes I think they are, too. Your hair is really thin, you could have asked for thicker ones and they still would have looked great. Maybe that's what you were looking for?

Yes, looks like you have a little growing room and some training for them but honestly it looks really nice on you.

HAHA I had to google Emily Blunt(I'm not hip I guess).
I've never heard that one. She's pretty though, so thanks! I usually get Uma Thurman and Goldie Hawn(they both have big snozzes like me LOL)

Hey now, thems fightin words.:D J/K I don't think my hair is thin,I have a lot of it, but she did only cut a thin layer. It is fine textured though.

Whew........ I was expecting a really bad outcome ! I can definitely tell a difference between your before and after and yes, they are sideswept. However, usually a sideswept band has a bit more bulk to it, they are on the thin side. But, you can always add more hair to your fringe - you can't uncut it so I think it's good to be cautious.
It looks nice on you :)

I went crazy trying to get the bulky side swept bangs for years having my favorite stylist keep cutting, half of my head was bangs and they still were super thin, it's just not going to happen for a fine-thinnie so I wouldn't recommend cutting more - and again I think they look great on you :D

a little bit thinner than what I prefer for side swept bangs but yes they are side swept bangs. Next time ask for thicker ones - just keep in mind that it will take out a lot from the rest of your hair. it looks cute on you though!

I think that looks like sideswept bangs. Maybe next time you could show the hairdresser a picture or demonstrate with your hands?
