However if i dont put coney conditioner on my ends it revolts! my ends are dry and crispy!!!!ARGHHHHHH!!!! :( hmmmm! now i need to find a good coney condish for my ends and to me this does not make sense cos i thought that as all the damage was now cut away my hair would be happy with cone free washes???
i am beginning to love my hair now but it still confuses me!:rolleyes: !!!
anyone else have this issue????
and why the hell should i be not happy about using cones on my ends! cones are not evil after all!!!!!

If it works for your hair you should totally go for it. I am glad you have found something that is making your hair happy. That is the important thing after all!

Cones are fine, we have tons of people on here that are happy cone heads (wait no.....that was a Saturday Night Live sketch or something wasn't it?) At any rate. I like what cones do for my hair but it makes it too slippy for updos so I am cone free. I can't have all these awesome hair toys and not be able to use them lol.
Cone free is just one of many things each one of us probably tries out at some point or other. Just like anything else, if it doesn't work for you don't use it. No harm, no foul!!!

How about CO washing with a 'cone-free conditioner and then using something 'coney as a leave-in, just on your ends, to keep them happy? :)

If you put a leave-in just on the ends, it shouldn't make it go limp.

My hair and leave-ins were never really friends, until I saw my frugal grandmother adding water to her shampoo to make it last longer.
I'll spare you my thought process, but in the end I mixed my regular conditioner with distilled water and just messed around with proportions until I got it the way I wanted it.

Cones really aren't that bad, if your hair likes 'em go for it. Don't feel like you have to quit just because that's the hair trend at the moment.
Or, if you feel like you want to try just to see what happens, maybe just try switching to a condish that has "mild" 'cones that are water soluble or removable by cowashing. (e.g. Dimethicone copolyol, peg-modified dimethicone, cyclomethicone...)
Also, if you don't want to do leave in, why not try just using your coney conditioner on the bottom half of you hair, then putting a cone free one on the roots at the same time? ;) I do something similar when I cowash, I just put a "weak" VO5 condish on my scalp and a heavy moisturizing one on the length so I have fewer apply-then-rinse steps.

Using two conditioners is an option but I found leaving in the same conditioner I co-wash with, works just as fine as coney ones minus build-up. Maybe you should try it. If your ends are dry they probably need moisture all the time, not only while you wash hair. And a tiny bit of oil to seal it won't hurt, either. HTH

For a leave in try Fox's shea butter leave in cream, use a nice coney conditioner in it and you're set!
Relax darlin, as long as it's good for your hair we all approve!
