I have alot of fine hair almost to my shoulder..I am growing out a severe A line cut.I dont understand this cone thing..Is it bad for hair or good for hair..What should I be looking for?
How do I experiment to see if my hair likes them or not? Maybe dumb questions but I want to know what the difference is in a shampoo with or with out..Can you name some moisturizing shampoos with cones and some without Please? Thanks..I am very frustrated with my hair..
If I can get it looking nice I will feel better..

I'm happily a cone-head and don't plan on changing soon. If I buy a shampoo without cones in it, it's just coincidental. My favorite go-too products are garnier fructisse and aussie, my hair is very healthy and strong and I'm very happy with it.
It really all depends on you, your hair, your personal preference. If you want to use cones, use them! :)

I have very fine hair as well but mine is damaged, either way my hair seems to love cones. I however don't prefer using a shampoo with cones but just keep my conditioner coney. I did use an aveda reconstructing poo with cones and it was nice but I'm afraid of build-up. I use a natural shampoo and then a repairing coney conditioner/mask and my hair is happy :)
Also many people love garnier fructesse on this site it seems and it works great for them but my hair HATES it, I have two huge bottles I never use. Just my two cents =)

I guess it depends on what your hair likes in the end! My hair depends on cones especially when it's feeling a bit damaged, but cones just don't suit some hair types. Trial and error is the best way forward sometimes!

My hair seems to go back and forth between liking and disliking 'cones. I guess they build up after a certain point and start weighing it down and giving me sticky ends.
It really does depend on your hair type, the type of 'cone, etc. Maybe you can do a search for other members with your hair type and see what routines/products their hair likes? that might give you a place to start figuring out what to try. I read somewhere that you can search by hair type here.

my hair cannot stand cones, it makes it porous and crispy...it gives it weight but makes it look terrible.

I don't know what the point of cones are in shampoo..I didn't know that was even possible but I use coney conditioners to detangle my hair and help me cope with damage until I can cut it off. I'm CO with shampoo when I need to clarify and I use no-cone conditioners on my scalp for that. They clean well.
