OK, I've gotten addicted to spraying perfume in my hair..I only do it once a day, 2-3 spritzes. I love the idea of the perfume giving off scent in my hair. Q: how damaging is this potentially? I can see it maybe drying my hair out abit, but wouldn't a good CO & ACV rinse take care of it?? PS Did my 1st Paraben free, DEA, Sulphate free poo last nite with ACV afterwards..my hair was so soft n shiny after!!

My biggest concern would be if there was alcohol in it to dry it out.

Other than that, I don't think it could damage hair.

I don't think there's any alcohol..am using one called "SO...eternal?"

I must admit my first thought was of the numerous people I know who are allergic to perfumes. A lightly scented oil under the hair might also give you the scented hair you want without as much escaping. On the nape or behind the ears perhaps.

Perfumes are mostly alcohol so as long as you protect your hair from that I expect it will be fine.

I use Essential Oils and water for the same effect! I wouldn't like the idea of all the *stuff* (yeah, I have no idea whats in perfume) that's in perfume being in my hair.

I always spritz one spray of perfume in my hair. Or two little dabs if I'm using BPAL (perfume oil with no spritzer) I use Jo Malone perfume. I can't imagine that the tiny bit I use does any damage!

I don't think it makes the scent that much stronger, but I smell it every time I turn my head and it makes me happy.

I occasionally wear fragrances and instead of spraying it directly on my head I spray it on my comb/brush before I put my hair up - it spreads the scent through my hair without concentrating it in one spot, which is good since I'm not all that great at aiming the spritzer at the back of my head :P

There are a lot of things in there that you don't want on you:

While having perfumed hair is awesome, i really don't think it's a good idea to spray it on your hair directly. I use essential oils with a bit of water.
Potentially, putting perfume directly on your hair could bleach or stain it (I've seen it happen before on my own clothes so, who knows?) or it could just dry it a bit. But I'm not an expert so I'm not sure.

This seems like a good idea, though, I never thought of doing it.

I use BPAL (oils) and I will usually dab it on and then run my fingers through my hair to get the residue on it. I don't find that it makes it any stronger (and I am fragrance sensitive!), just lasts a little longer.

Using argan oil on my hair leaves it soft and nicely scented.

I used perfume oil on my hair Monday and it still smells wonderful! I mix it in with whatever I'm oiling my hair with that day. Jasmine is my personal favorite!

I'm sure you are fine. A few sprays of perfume won't affect your hair. The alcohol in perfume evaporates quite quickly anyway.

Guilty of perfuming my hair! Just one spritz, from far away :) Have been doing this for years and never noticed extra damage because of the perfume

I do this as well! It makes me happy :)

I always make sure not to over-fragrance myself though. I always hate it after valentine's day when people come in reeking of perfume because they got a new bottle and felt heavy-handed.

I don't really use perfumes, but I made some for my hair, I mixed coconut oil, shea butter and orange and clove essential oils. It smells delicious and christmassy! :)
