Just wondering what length you guys would class this as? I really don't know what to call it. I used to say it was waist length but it is longer than what seems to be the general idea of waist length on here.

Just in case the image doesn't work/stops working - the image can be found here: http://www.filgaia.com/misc/hairdrywet.jpg

Also, does anyone know if there is a thread/page explaining the hair classifications or could someone explain them to as they currently make little sense to me :)

Your image isn't working. :( And the link directs me to a 404 forbidden access screen.

... wait a few minutes (or maybe try copy/pasting the url). I'll go see if the other domain admins have changed the access setting since I last talked to them.

Here is how to type (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=5) your hair,
and here is how to measure (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=9) your hair.
I can't see the pictures either.

^what she said^

Edit: sorry, triple-cross-post. I meant that I got the 404 Forbidden Access page and couldn't see the image, either.

Edit2: I got it by copy-pasting the link, and I'd say you're at waist, possibly hip (I can't really tell where your hips are in the picture). I go by length dry when judging measurements.

Oh, I guess that link for measuring hair doesn't really apply to what you're talking about. Sorry. I should have double checked the link before I posted it. I thought it talked about BSL, waist, classic, etc. but I guess not.

I tried to copy and paste the link - and it worked.

Is the left picture your current one? And the one on he right an older one?

The left image looks like hip length to me.

Pic on the left looks like hip. Pic on the right looks like waist or waist + a little bit.

I copied and pasted the link as well. Wet looks tailbone and dry looks about hip

Fixed - for now.

There's about a week between the two photos, and my hair hasn't grown that much (I wish it did though). It's tends to be quite wavy and fluffy when it is dry which I guess is where some of the length has been eaten up.

Thanks for the links Teresa9000, I'll go take a look at them now. :)

I would say your wet hair is hip and dry is waist + a bit more.

If I look my hair from the back with a mirror it looks the same as your wet hair. My hair is hip length.

I ditto the people that say wet looks tailbone and dry looks hip length to me

It looks like past-waist to me!

Remember that your "waist" is not "where you wear your pants." Your "waist" is the circumference of your body at your belly-button. So, tie a ribbon around yourself, level with your bellybutton, and then look in the mirror. You will see that your hair is far beyone waist-length!

Likewise, we are calling it hip-length when it is as long as your pokie-out-hip-bones.

Your hair may actually be tailbone-length.

But, whatever length you call it, it's lovely hair! Good job!

I think it's at "can I call this hip-length" (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=24). :)

Thanks for all the comments/advice :) From the comments and the handy explaination from hurricane_gia I think I'll go with the hip/just past hip length - as I know I have a few more inches to go to tailbone.

Thanks :D

It's not what we here just out of nowhere call waist, it is where waist is, it is the definition of waist used for example by dress makers etc.

Not right either. Waist is the narrowest part of your torso, on me that's above my belly button. Of course this doesn't work if you're obese.

From what I see in those photos, I'd call it just about hip length.

Wet, i'd say hip.
The other picture is a little too dark
for me to make out clearly.

Left-Hip
Right-Waist

Nice color by the way!

I'd call it waist+. I go by dry length. Wet it is at hip length.

I'd call it hip length. Even the right picture looks like the ends might be at the top of your pelvis, though it's hard to tell. (This is why there's a nearly standard length picture pose, with hands on the hips. Makes it easier to tell.)

I would agree with others. I think you're past waist but not to hip yet. So I'd call it a "I can't wait to get to hip" length haha.

Ah, I didn't realise that was why... is this better?
