My Progress :]

So, I finally had pictures taken, and just now got the chance to upload them. I figured a progress thread would be a good way to go about it.

Here is where I kept my length for the longest time:

I started growing it in November 2005, the last time that I took shears to my head. I also kept my beard roughly that length until around November 2009, and have let it grow since then.

If you read my introduction thread, a couple years ago, I dyed my hair black, and then removed the color a month or two later, leaving my hair the color of the lower end of my hair in the above picture. I haven't had the heart to cut that much hair off, so I have left it.

And I have to agree with all the posters - you look just like a viking, you just need the helmet, chainmail and axe (braids would look good too) and you have it! :grin: That would sort of make you my enemy, though, I belong with the Celts... :lol:

I used to keep it short because as a teenager, my hair was so greasy, even with washing, I could do my hair up in an Ace Ventura do without having to add anything to my hair. Nothing changed that, so I kept it short.

I guess thinning up and losing weight helped change that.

I prefer the blond and the whole thing goes with the beard. Beards are much underrated and are a truely excellent thing especially with long hair. Well done.

This thread is so funny! Rawr, pointy hat, Thor! And... Done! Hah! You are awesome! And, I too have to agree that the blond suits you much better. I wouldn't have known though about the bleached ends. In the first pic it just looked like extra shine from the flash on the bottom. Incredible shine all the way around, I might add. I also like the beard photo from the band. I think that style would work well for you, Thor. So, are you going to change your user name?

The black hair was a complete boredom thing. Recently being out of work to do some training for another line of work, finishing that, then having the recession announced a week later. Couldn't find a job, and after 2 months, got kinda bored. Was cheaper than a tattoo, and much safer. Went with black because it was the most out there color I could do without hurting my job hunting /too/ much. Almost went blue lol!

I agree with what everyone else has said. You've had s such great growth and the color is really nice. My dh is growing a beard too but will shave it off in the spring (darn). Guys with beards and long hair are kinda unusal nowadays. It looks good on you.

I used to grow a full beard in the falls for hunting season (keeps the face warmer lol). Haven't had a chance to hunt in a couple years, so I don't do it now.
