Monistat

My head has been itchy and flaky for weeks. Even after shampooing, when it is dry, it's very scaly and flaky around the temples and behind my ears. And ITCHY!! I really just slathered on the Monistat and rubbed it in, and the itching stopped dead in its tracks! So, could this be a yeast realated thing? I have heard that Monistat is good for the hair. Is this why? Are there other benifits to using it other then controlling itchyness? My search mechanisim isn't working right, so I can't do a search.
