Um...yes. I've been going some what crazy in the hair toy department. But I was doing that before LHC went down. I bought a few things pretty much just as LHC was about to start malfunctioning--a few sticks and some hair pins, and a ficcare. In February, I bought some custom Nightshade sticks that I love, an etta mae fork and I've just barely ordered a new (small) ficcare. Plus, I bought a new hair stick from another user on etsy. I also bought a horn comb. However, I had almost no hair toys except a few barrettes and some scrunchies, so I sorta feel justified. :) I'm going to try not to buy anything until the end of the semester or quite possibly even til next fall; I fear I may have gonna slightly hog wild, and there are items I've still only worn once. I'm somewhat surprised since I am normally rather tight with money. I blame it on LHC being down. Of course. :-D

Found a 'double helix' done in solid wood. Maple, oak etc.
Same shape as our beloved mamacat ribbon spirals. (I wish she would pop in and say hi)
The artist is on the Ebay as Stix by Feather.
Very reasonable. And she does custom lengths.

Thank you! I love ketylos (and they are relatively inexpensive for such nice hairsticks... enable enable :p), and they are extremely smooth and hair friendly. And yes, they hold fabulously.

The G3studios one I have is really short-- only 4.5 inches total-- but it holds really well, due to the shape. I was shocked, actually. It also hasn't snapped any hairs at all, which surprised me because I normally snap a few when I rush with a stick-- the other day I was showing a woman in my class how to do a French twist with a hairstick, and we were about to leave, so I rushed... but still no snaps! It also says it's waterproof (in the description), but there's no way I'm bringing this guy into the shower! It still feels like normal wood, not as firm as a dymondwood stick. It's nice and smooth, too. :D

i made some new hairtoys does that count? i was making 1 carved item a day until i injured my arm by hand carving for 6 hours or more a day without any real breaks. after that im a little afraid to start up again without powertools

I bought two Blondiesturn forks: a pink ivory and a birdseye maple.

Two MtM sticks, and more soon... they are ebony and dyed elder burl...

And DH bought me the most gorgeous CMD pink ivory stick with quartz and pink coral. It is the fanciest I'll have!

I have been so proud of myself that I could resist the Ketylo offer after all that enabling over at TBB, actually I bought nothing the whole time.

Till yesterday! I discoverd that I can hold up my hair with forks again, it doesn't look good to go to work like this but I love it that I have a hairsafe way to hold up my hair at home again - so I bought three 60th street forks yesterday, one in tulipwood, one in indigo and one is charcoal silvertone dymondwood.

It feels good to act out on that addiction again...

Sorry late getting back to you eadwine. Papadonh's fuchsia is NOT kapow....it's more of a purple. I have a feeling though, it's a little more 'lively' than the Ketylo but don't know for sure because I haven't gotten the Ketylo yet.

I suspect that the color I really want is 'bubble gum' or 'flamingo' but where to get it?

It's an inexpensive silver-tone aligator with topaz crystals, from ElegantHairAcc.com, and it is similar in shape and size to the Ficcare Signature clip....which is why it is only holding one coil of my loose cinnamon bun. But it held that bun securely without needing adjustment.
